To be fair, the original ranch (before the current geodesic dome ranch) was supposedly a rental, so it’s entirely possible that Phil was renting the first ranch from Gail Logue. However, it’s also entirely possible that Phil has had his housing paid for by family for a long time now.
There’s a good chance that “me and my sister bought a duplex together” is code for “Walt and Anahid bought a duplex, and let me and my sister live in it”. I think if he were renting the duplex he would just say that, as it would make him sound less privileged than claiming to own the duplex. There’s really only one possible flaw with that theory: if the duplex was owned and paid for by Walt and Anahid, and Phil was living there rent free, what incentive would Phil have to move back into to their basement with Kevin? From looking at public records, Walt and Anahid still own the duplex, and it seems like Phil’s sister and her husband still reside there. Why would Phil move?

So the reason I sperged a bit on the lot size with the acres is that for infertile land and alpacas. The Tranchers will have to pay more for second-grade hay (most nutritious shit) because of no grass for supplementation. Most alpaca sites I looked at rec 5 alpaca per acre (on nice grass) and 2-3 per shit tier acre but that's not even as bad as tranch level. So multiple times 3 tranchers should have maybe max herd of 108-ish for their grass tier with max being at 180ish head of Alpacas. I think they're in between this now but it's likely costing them more to have this.
Also, they ONLY have 2 bedrooms so one is likely for Phil, Kevin, and I think Jen? Who all share a bed and then Sky and Paul live in the second. So if the trancheros didn't have their military troon camps they'd be storing their pet slaves in the unfinished basement etc.

ALSO, their monthly dues as you can see in the image are likely a bit over a grand so if they're making max 3k (looking at their top month), you take out Etsy fees of 0.05% you're at $2850. Take out their mortgage which is likely around $1012 depending upon the deposit and you're left with $1,833 for groceries for 5 grown men, the fucking generators they keep buying at like $500 kek, the cost of medicating/vets/alpaca things, and you basically have very little split between this many people.
