Rome is the third game in the Total War series. The premise is simple: attempt to force a regime change from the SPQR -the patrician controlled Senate- to the popular government led by you, as Imperator.

I won't be doing screenshots for battles and the like.

First post decides which of the starting Roman factions we choose. They're mechanically the same in terms of units.

-House Julii, as in GAIUS JULIUS CAESAR. Populists and beloved of the Plebeians.
-House Brutii. Arms of the Senate, forced out the last king of Rome and historically killed Caesar.
-House Scipio, as in Scipio Africanus. Warriors beloved of the Gods.

Be whatever the blue one is. As them it's easy to conquer the entirety of Africa, and you get to sack Carthage. The Egyptians are the only hard part because by the time you get to them they will likely by blobbing out of control.

Julii. Red is the only true color for Romans.

Julii it is then. We start in 270 BC. We really hate those GALLIC SAVAGES, because they killed our father and gouged out his eyes. Let's make them pay before we conquer the frontier for Roma- but first, we must deal with slaves that take up arms against their loving masters. Also, this one woman keeps piping in like she has a brain in her head. Ha! Flavius don't need no bitch to tell him how to run his settlements.

-Our starting settlements are Arretium, and Ariminum. Both are large towns.
-We have 5000 denarii.
-Our mission from the Senate: Take the rebellious village of Segesta in ten turns. Our faction leader and his heir have their armies ready to attack. We have ONE and ONE ONLY unit of Triarii.

First post determines build order in Arretium, second in Ariminum. Third decides moves of our armies.

I'm trying to remember all the buildings, but it's been so long since I played myself I have no reference. The main thing to remember is to keep squalor (the 'rat' statistic) low. Build public works buildings and lots of roads. Roads also make it faster for your to move troops through the area.

Stay out of Spain and conquer Britain instead. Spain is too easy.
