Idk how to feel about this.

if they can bring back most of the original writers and VAs then I’m down for it.

but I’m worried it would end up like seasons 9/onward.
I mean if Mike Judge is behide it. I will watch it. Since he's not a leftie, hence won't be woke.

It'd be so weird to bring the show back without Britney Murphy. Luanne was just a standout character for the show. A big part of it was because Murphy nailed the character as a loveable trailer trash girl. Yeah they can recast her but it wouldn't feel right especially how she died so tragically young.

I hope it just stays dead because the current cartooning pipeline is just based on Toon Boom Animation which we all just know is just significantly limited animation. Those first several seasons of King of the Hill were so good because Mike Judge finally had a Simpsons level budget to animate his creations with. If it comes back it's going to likely have the far more stilted look of say Bob's Burgers or god forbid Zombie Simpsons.

Lastly the final problem is that the show ended well after all the major conflicts of the show were resolved. Hank resolved his father issues and stopped being a total social conservative wet blanket, he also came to accept the quirkiness of his son. Dale unwittingly saved his total failure of a marriage with comedic dumb luck. Luanne ended the show happily married with a child. What can a revival season do to please fans and see these characters have more success in their lives and grow? Have Hank finally becomes the manager of Strickland Propane after Buck retires? Peggy gets a career that she's not a total moron at? Bill gets married?

It told over a decade of stories. And with Mike Judge's crew being busy with new Beavis and Butthead I think they're already stretched ridiculously thin. Hell Silicon Valley ended rather limply with its final season on HBO.

Yet the animation started to take a dive once it switched over to full-on digital paint come season 8. And yet, no one seems to bring that up. I feel like if the show does come back, it'll either be ToonBoom-esque standard Fox animation, or at least Season 8-13 era. because it'll never go back to the pre-digital level when it comes to quality.

Depends on how much control he'd have versus the Woke Leftist dangerhairs and beardos working at whatever network the show would be on. After all, The Rat owns Fox and presumably King of the Hill as well.

The Rat are both turbo-woke even by Hollywood standards AND are control freaks, especially since Iger took over.

Mike Judge's one saving grace is that he's not openly conservative to the extent that Roseanne Barr was and whenever someone brings up his ties to Alex Jones, he's quick to point out he's only a personal friend of Jones because they went to school together.

Judge is also not mentally ill like Roseanne is, but he's also had a lot of quarrels with network execs in the past.

If Judge is given full control and the Rat takes a hands-off approach, it could actually be good depending on what angle they go with.

Maybe an elderly Hank runs Strickland and has to raise G.H. or it could focus more on a grown up Bobby?
I wonder which voice actor could voice Luanne and sound close to the late Brittany Murphy?

IIRC, Mike Judge said that if he brought back KOTH, he'd write her out of the show by saying her and Lucky moved somewhere.

*sigh* well i guess it was inevitable but assume of you have said. A KoTH reboot isn't a completly dead idea. Mike has said he did plan on bringing the show back if the first beavis and butthead reboot was a hit (it wasn't but only because it aired on 2011 MTV, before wokeness was a thing but also before streaming was the home for reboots)

But it's going to need Mike and at least some of the original staff back. Look at what happened to the animaniacs reboot, it had a lot of promise but it only had Spielberg back just so they could slap his name on the cover. With the original writing staff gone and replaced with beardos and dangerhairs we ended up with cringy current year jokes that went beyond even the most dated jokes of the old show.

Put people like that in charge of KoTH and we could get things like Hank being a Trump supporter with full blown tes, dale as a Qanon member who was probably at the capital insurecttuon, Bobby as a middle aged movieblob critic, GH as a non binary zoomer, and god knows what else they'd inject into the show for self projection
