I've been rewatching it from the beginning and I'm realizing I wished they had flushed out a few more characters.

One of them I've always been interested in is Principal Moss. He's an alcoholic but also a middle school principal. How does that happen?

Also, I love the subtle jokes in the first few seasons about Nancy cheating on Dale. They were a lot more well constructed than in the later seasons.

In Moss's case, it's the soul-crushing experience of being a petty bureaucrat hamstrung by his superiors. His superiors like the Superintendent or the School board care about virtue signaling and Moss is often the one to blame. That's why he's such a scumbag.

I remember my parents not letting me watch this show as a kid, since it was on at the adult cartoon block. I recently decided to go through the entire series to validate my Hulu subscription. Expecting a raunchy show full of explicit jokes akin to some dumbass f-tier "'adult show" like Family Guy, I was pretty surprised to see how wholesome and heartwarming a lot of the show was.

The show dealt wih a lot of serious topics , and although they did sometimes make light of these issues for the sake of a joke, they always did so wih respect. They also showed some pretty good morals. It was a genuine surprise to me when Nancy decided to stay faihful to Dale. It's very different from today, where a show in the vain of KOTH would show Nancy's affair with John Redcorn as some sort of empowering female message. Overall, very good show, 10/10, would recommend.

Originally, the show aired on Fox. Adult Swim bought it out a decade later.

A middle school principal who went to Brown but ended up back in Arlen. There’s definitely a story there though they started using Moss more in the later seasons.

What would be your favorite episode from each season? These would be my picks...

Season 1: Westie Side Story. I love Khan as a character, there were a lot of poignant moments in the episode, and some that have become more and more so as time goes on.

Season 2: This season is hard to pick one. This season alone has like a third of my all-time favorite episodes. I'm going to go with Hilloween. It's one of the most honest-feeling "halloween" episodes of any show, it's one of the sometimes too-rare cases where we see Hank has a "bad boy" side at times, it's aged depressingly well, and it's got some great lines.

Season 3: A few good choices here, but Dog Dale Afternoon. If there's anything I love more than a good Khan episode, it's a good Dale episode.

Season 4: Tempted to go with the 2 part here, of course. It was a great two-parter. But in the interest of fairness and going with one episode, Won't You Pimai Neighbor? Not exactly a Khan episode, but a solid Bobby episode, and it has this absolutely fantastic scene.

Season 5: The Exterminator. Again, I love a good Dale episode, and in particular I like the ones that show that although he's batshit insane, he's also actually surprisingly competent, in his own ways. This episode does that.

Season 6: Another season with a lot of strong contenders. Honorable mentions to Soldier of Misfortune, Tanking it to the Streets, and of course the two parter Returning Japanese, but I'm going to give it to My Own Private Rodeo. Yeah, yeah, I'm gay, maybe this episode is special to me, but it would have been so easy to paint Hank as the typical homophobic southern conservative, but they didn't. Yes, he was uncomfortable, and fuck, so would I have been around camp that thick, but what bothered him more was his friends being immature about it. Plus, again, it's a Dale episode.

Season 7: By now this probably won't be a surprise, but Mega-Lo Dale. Again, good Dale episode, showed him being insane-but-competent, and the plot amused me.

Season 8: The Redneck on Rainey Street. A good Khan episode. Not much to say about it, I just like it.

Season 9: Dale to the Chief. Hold on, hold on, hold on! Not because it's a Dale episode, although that doesn't hurt. It's that season 9 was... Well, kind of the first "weak" season, and there just wasn't a lot to choose from for a standout episode.

Season 10: A much stronger season than 9, a few to pick from, but I'm going with The Year of Washing Dangerously. A solid Khan episode in general, plus it's got a lot of Buck in it, which is another character I like - King of the Hill, in general, has very solid side characters. And it's got Buck Speaking The Truth, although I can't find a clip to link.

Season 11: Not a great season over all, but the clear winner goes to Bill, Bulk and the Body Buddies. "Your rectum ruptured, and your internal systems became, well... external."

Season 12: A stronger season than 11, several to choose from. Wouldn't have mattered, going with Trans-Fascism, for personal reasons. Sorry, no fun commentary here.

Season 13: A weak season, again, sadly. While the final episode had a nice, sweet "everything is going to be okay" vibe to it, I'm going to give the nod to Dia-BILL-ic Shock, because it was just an all-around good episode.
