I beg to differ. People tend to look down on video games as irrelevant toys, but when it comes to the economical aspects, you have to accept that they are a massive industry nowadays that generates insane amounts of cash. That is precisely why GG did have a point when it came to journos pushing their agendas and the cronyism that went with it. One can mock them all one likes for being video game spergs sperging over video game journalism, but in the end, said journalism has a clear impact on a multi-billion-dollar industry.
Vice put out a podcast on why they haven't covered the game. https://archive.md/anFoP I'm soy intolerant so I haven't listened to it.
That has to be the most :autism: thing on the list. Don't get me wrong, it's all retarded, but if you can't get the point of the purposeful inclusion of all the offensive stuff in Harvester then you're truly beyond help.38:50 Harvester complaints. Harvester.
didn't scrrencap it and don't have the link, but there was some salt in the Pokejungle twitter. Someone they knew used their account and posted that blacks were a statistically insignificant minority during the time period. Then the main users were informed of the ensuing butthurt, fired him, banned him, called him a bigot, and are publicly crucifying him on twitter. They're also planning to delete the tweets later. Sorry, it was in a different device and I did not get the links.
All of which means that a shadow lingers over Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Instead of challenging the Dark Age it reinterprets 615 years later, the game seems to delight in it.
I don't know what's dumber: pointing to The Silk Road as an argument for black traders being in Bohemia when The Silk Road was Chinese and likely would be several times removed from its initial traders by the time it got there, or making up a hypothetical scenario with no historical evidence to back it up while never once considering that an unwed girl getting knocked up in the 1400s by an obviously foreign traveler might become a problem.Czech cities Olomouc and Prague were on the famous Silk Road which facilitated the trade of goods all over the world. If you plot a line between them, it runs directly through the area recreated in Kingdom Come. "You just can't know nobody got sick and stayed a longer time," he says. "What if a group of black Africans came through and stayed at an inn and someone got pregnant? Even one night is enough for a pregnancy."
i want to clarify a little more on thisi think the funniest thing about this situation is that they think that the developers give a shit about what they think
I think it comes down to two things. You’ve got the white guilt “allies” that think black people need representation even if it means spitting in the face of historical accuracy and confusing people. Then you have the “we wuz kangz” crowd that really are just desperate for a culture that’s isn’t collard greens and grits or depictions that their ancestors were spear chuckers. They’re desperate for blacks to be seen as equals to cultures that developed algebra, geography, astrology, democracy etc when they’re really not.The Silk Road went nowhere near Africa so i really doubt African nations would use it for trade...especially since they have the Mediterranean.
The darkest skinned people who used the Silk road were likely just bloody Indians and Turks.
Why can't people just accept that there weren't thousands of Dashiki's running around medieval europe
