This dude had a huge thread back on Portal of Evil. Chet of course burned PoE to the ground, but there was a lot of talk about Kit & Kay Boodle back in those days before the site shuttered, and we honestly thought that photo of the couple was them.

Well this has been a weird fuckin' Sunday evening read.

What goes through somebody’s head that makes them not only imagine this shit, but decided to actively invest large amounts of time and effort in to making it an actual thing?

I have been in the fandom more or less for a long time and I've always had an interest in the "original fandom" but this sort of thing is pretty common, albeit not to this extreme.

Early furry was you had your character(s), and you would role play them. Either on Web 1.0 or in comics. You'd meet other people, share characters in stories, create new characters, etc... Mostly, "online", you were that character. The MUCKs were a big draw to this where you pretty much forced to be in character all the time. If you wanted another character, you'd just create it.

Now mix that in with someone who has mental issues. I forget the dude, but he was Old Guard, married to a woman, they had sex, it was meh, but as soon as she took on the form of his online sweetheart, suddenly the sex turned into this passionate online shit. There's stories like that all over but since furry back then was so tight knit, it wasn't as talked about as the stuff today.

I recall meeting artists whose entire lives revolved around their characters and worlds. Most were harmless annoying but some where really out there. The general idea was that it was "okay" and well they had friends that would help, but unless there was a real danger of harm, nothing was really done. What's worse is the people that would feed into those fantasies because of the idea that "we can't just put someone that hurt through the trauma of the mental health system".

Pretty sure as far as those people go, Albert was the one that is the worse just for the fact that he had friends, and friends that knew or had an idea of the issues, but just wouldn't do anything to legitimately help.

The MUCKs were a big draw to this where you pretty much forced to be in character all the time. If you wanted another character, you'd just create it.

Consider this: FurryMUCK, the oldest of these, was founded in 1990, 30 years ago, and still exists.

In my opinion, she's probably not worthy of her own thread, and it's probably too much work to dig up examples of her being a lolcow, but she's in that territory.

To me she's always been basically a joke in the fandom. Her attempt at a furry slice-of-life comic was basically ignored by the fandom and fell apart after she pulled a "For Better Or Worse" with it and aired dirty laundry about her marriage failing. Her only claim to any fame for years was Groat's and other artists ongoing art comedy bits about how in character and in real life, she has big boobs.

Her twitter shows that as of 2020 she's gone full communist socialist antifa, probably in an effort to be relevant and popular again as she's an old lady in a fandom that worships youth, and probably is less interested in her sagging boobs by the day.

Back on semi-topic and the DeWalts - , Candy is a troon? Never saw that coming. Or perhaps I did, what with the neverending narritive of how she's abused and Albert helped her feel better but now he's dead, so....

I think I know the lady you're talking about. Did she do a bunch of comics where she had her ex literally erased from existence in the comic?

Admittedly, I never read the full comic but I read that storyline and thought it was interesting to tackle personal issues through a third-wall break like that, but I also don't know anything else about what lead up to it.

It always struck me as a clever way to handle it. Sue-the-writer erases the character representing her ex, Sue-the-deer's husband, and explains the whole story to Sue-the-deer (in a nutshell, infertility issues driving a wedge between them and then husband's ex and her suddenly dadless kid showing up) while Sue-the-deer holds the container of eraser nibbins. And at the end, she puts the container on the shelf, says goodbye, wishes him the best, and realizes that Sue-the-writer has disappeared, but all her friends have showed up to be there for her.

Ngl, I'm getting misty just remembering it. I liked Sue. If she went off the deep end at some point, that's honestly a shame.

Oh no, she was just friends with everyone whose art I followed back in the day and I used to read some of her comic. Always seemed nice.

She doesn't even seem like she's gone particularly nuts, no more than anyone else who tweets a lot of political stuff in a politically batshit time.

I'd believe Susan lost as eye. I know she had major issues with one of her eyes, so it's something that wouldn't shock me if one of her eyes went completely bad.

As for Candy. She and Ryan both deserve much better then they have. Both great people and, while a little weird, aren't on the "hide the kids and live stock" end of weird. Candy's family are basically the classic examples of horrible parents, and from the sound of it she and Ryan have easily pushed the reset button so they aren't as shit as her parents and grandparents. Most of the Dewalt's circle of friends, past and present, are pretty good people. You'll have exceptions for sure, but those people didn't last long.

Thank you for necro-ing this thread, I just happened to see the name scrolling down the Forums list, and thought "Heh, I remember that godawful creepy/cute comic where he used jizz pounded up a furry's ass to launch her out of a pit trap, and then later on the character wanted a 3-some with his wife and her mother, let's see what kind of cow the author is!"

What a fucking ride THAT was.
