If you guys wanna see some shitty ones check out Mike Jeavons on YouTube, he goes through and tests these items.

A friend of mine told me a hell of a lot of these informercial items are for disabled people, specific to people with the inability to move.

Those things do make good smoothies in a jiffy. All you need is a Banana, frozen berries and some milk, and it's as simple as loading, blending, then drinking. But all other uses of that thing are patently ridiculous and no one would ever use.

This will change your life. I have it and love it.

There are so many shitty kitchen gadgets that you buy and they stay in the back of the cupboard the next 1000 years until historians find them in the ruins of your house.
Let's talk gadgets that actually do not suck and are useful

The one I always talk about is the crockpot, I love my crockpot because I can make a large amount of food without having to stand in front of the stove for an hour. The only thing I wish it could do was brown ground beef and onions nicely because I always have to do that in a pan before transferring to the crockpot. Otherwise it's great for all kinds of things.

Have a slap chop from a friend some odd birthday ago as a joke gift when Vince Offer was at his prime before the whole prostitute punching thing happened.

For a stupid gimmick gadget it works pretty well and it sees more use than I thought it would, all things considered.

My Kitchen Aid stand mixer. I recently upgraded my old one, RIP dear friend, and I'm getting used to the newer style. I have collected attachments over the years from garage sales and online selling groups so between all of those (specifically the shredder/slicer for veg and cheese) and it's general purpose uses (shredding meat is a big one) it gets used almost daily.

My rice cooker is the other one I can't live without and gets used almost daily. I also really liked my apple/potato corer peeler thing until it broke. I won't replace it until I can shell out for the Williams Sonoma one, I just had a cheap one from Christmas Tree Shoppe to see if I liked it. It made a big difference in holiday baking and we could do curly potatoes as a quick side when I didn't feel like putting in much effort.

Oh yeah rice cookers. I guess that counts as a gadget.

My toaster died a while back and since then I've realized I don't really need a toaster.

Ooh, another gadget that isn't shit was that super-cheap Chinese double-sided peeler. One of the sides is a normal peel but with some little teeth so it's really easy to run your finger over the area and know what spots aren't peeled. I assume there's some that aren't made out of plutonium that do it too but it's what I've got at least.

Tiger Rice Cooker - Pricey but worth the money. You can do everything with it and rice is always perfect. It's my favorite thing ever.
Philips Induction Cooktop - It has so many settings, including hotpot/nabe which is useful in winter.
Benriner Mandoline - The blades are sharp, so worth the money.
Delonghi Lattissima - Even though I find coffee pods wasteful, you can recycle Nespresso ones at least.

All these things get multiple uses per day, every day and they've lasted well so far.
People shouldn't waste their money or time on cheap junk that breaks. Just do your research and buy something decent that will last.

I love my dutch oven for making soups and stews, and cast iron is basically the best thing ever. My cast iron aebelskiver pan works great for other things like rolls and popovers.
Instant Pots are also awesome, it's both a crockpot and a pressure cooker and takes so much time off making dinner.

Poultry shears. Holy fuck youll barely use a knife after. If Jaques pepin says it's legit trust that man. I can't tell you how much I use em.

Fish spatula is just better than normal. I eat fried eggs almost daily and it's 10x easier to flip than the old ones.

I don't know the name exactly but my garlic plate. It's a tiny dish that has little nubs and you rub the garlic in it tears it up and then you scoop out. Way better than chopping or snashing.

OXO Good Grips swivel peeler. Not only has my family had one for a good 20 years and never needed to sharpen it, it has not rusted and it’s both comfortable to hold and lives up to the name “Good Grips”. Best tool ever.

Otherwise... I’d second the rice cooker.

Skull shaped ice cube tray because I’m super cool.8)
Do they work well as ice cubes? I received as a gift a tray that makes X-wing shaped ice cubes, but they work super poorly and dissolve almost instantly, because there's too much surface area relative to the total volume of the ice.

Actually they’re really good as ice cubes, a lot of density considering the shape fills out.

I bought a Tefal multicooker when I couldn't use my oven and it's a great gadget (I got it on Prime day too so it was cheaper than normal). It's great for steaming, stews, certain types of baking and best of all it curbs the hideous mess that I usually generate when I cook. I did once almost drown the kitchen in steam when I steamed duck, though.
I have an ancient Kenwood mixer (It's about 10 years older than I am and belonged to my Mum) that I use fairly often too. It has a whisking attachment which is infinitely better than giving myself carpel tunnel trying to do ti by hand.
