Since we got about two dozen hardcore and deathcore and speedcore and [insert word]core threads here, I thought it would be prudent to create a thread devote to the true bane of humanity: the Lite Rock / Sophistipop / Adult Contemporary musical genre.

Music so schmaltzy its like the audible equivalent of being dipped in maple syrup and covered with glitter.

Music so mind numbing and saccharine that it drives normal humans into blind rages, but so slick it is never blamed for the atrocities and literal genocides it has caused throughout the ages.

Share with us now, your favorite, or "favorite" Lite FM songs that have haunted you in the night, like an invisible demon whispering the SAME. FUCKING. LYRIC. into your skull until dawn.

Note that I'm only posting these songs because I really enjoy them.

The album version of "Angel in my Pocket", which you can hear here, used female pronouns for the "angel" but the radio and music video version changed the pronouns to male to make the song less lesbian.

I think "Lessons in Love" fits the general mood of this thread better than "Something About You".

Come to think of it, 75% of the songs used in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City would probably be appropriate for this thread.

"Moonlight Desires" was the Gowan song that showed up most often on classic Degrassi if I remember correctly but I prefer "Cosmetics", which was also used.

Gowan... Degrassi. You are most certainly Canadian. “Strange Animal” and “Criminal Mind” are great Gowan tracks too. Pretty sure he is now the lead singer for Styx (who are classic AM lite masters in their own right). Nice choice with Joe Jackson too.

I know this is a modern cover of a classic lite rock song, but I always liked Counting Crows' version of Big Yellow Taxi.
