I cut my internet punchup teeth as a preteen fighting pedophiles on Wikipedia. The ED article misses some points I remember but would need to clarify in full to describe, but they were generally allowed to get away with systematic pedantry in service of advocating fucking ten year olds, being subject to only very limited responses by the administrators. Until they started putting special badges on their pages saying they wanted to fuck kids, which ol' Jimbo Wales realized was bad PR for his comfortable nonprofit.

Some of us on the antipedophile side of that war were genuinely good people who just hated chomos and wanted them fed into woodchippers.

Others were outright JIDF agents in high positions within the Wikipedia organization like 'Jayjg' and 'SlimVirgin' (thirty years ago, maybe) who I now believe were involved to ensure the effort they spent worming their way into the delusional libertarian Wikipedia hierarchy of that time was not lost due to pedophile scandals that caused school networks to block Wikipedia.

There is always an agenda behind a Wikipedia article, and the best you can hope for is that it's the agenda of an autist who wants to fully reference every detail of how a Pokemon has changed through the various shows and games.
