In the interest of promoting creativity and writing skills, I am pleased to announce my first-annual Kiwi Farms Writing Contest!

Rules:
- This contest is for writers to compose a short story in the period of one month. The word count may be up to 7,500. I need to be able to verify this; if you submit a copy-protected PDF for instance, I cannot verify the word count, so don't do that.
- Story may be of any genre and feature almost any theme. Stories may not feature the sexuality of any underage characters. Stories may feature other forum members or lolcows, but I reserve the right to disqualify any story written in bad faith.
- Entries must be accompanied by a one-sentence plot preview (identical to a brief summary you'd read in the TV Guide). This helps everyone to be on the same footing by the enrollment date.
- Story must meet above parameters to be featured in judgement poll.
- Entries now closed! Stories must be complete by 11:59PM EDT on 3/9/15. You may submit at any time before.
- Holy fuck I did not anticipate this many stories! So what I'm going to do is add another dimension to the contest. Users will be able to vote multiple stories in the contest: if you liked the story, you can vote for it! Since we have the plot summaries, this makes getting people to read your story a part of the contest itself, so choose your plot ideas wisely!
- Forum trophy worth five points for the first-place story, as selected by a community poll.
- Forum trophy worth three points for the runner-up, as selected by a community poll.
