Well, my husband and I finally got the coof(from his not very bright mother, no less). Its day seven for my husband, and its day four for me. My husband has mild symptoms so far. Light fever, body aches, difficulty breathing, can't hold down solid food, ect... I'm fine other than a very small fever and cold shakes that can be taken care of with a dose of Tylenol. We've been taking vitamins before this happened and we're still taking them now. We're good on fluids too, we were never soda drinkers to begin with. I get a little worried for my husband, but he keeps reassuring me that its nowhere near as bad as the mystery funk he caught around the same time last year. I think we'll be okay, but I'm still very cautious. I wish you guys well, and I hope, that if you catch this shit, its mild for you guys too.

I have, at some point, been a coofer.
antibody proof.jpg

If I had it within the last 6 months, then it was either 1) completely asymptomatic save for maybe a runny nose on a colder week or 2) had a weak viral sore throat (with mild linear ulcers), but this would mean that I got not one but two false negative test results and never presented a fever.

If it was earlier than the last 6 months, then it was probably from early January where I caught a dry cough with heavy exhaustion for a few days, or again sometime completely asymptomatic.

Little Brother (26 - but with one high risk condition) randomly got a positive antibody test. Nurse Friend claims antibodies only last a few months, and looking back, LIttle Brother remembers having a slightly sniffly nose for a few days in December, at the same time that my dad had what felt like the seasonal flu.

My Girlfriend's mom just tested positive today. She's in her mid 40s and has a few high risk issues. My girlfriend just got her second rona vaccine less than a week ago but she still sees her mom everyday. I spent the 14th with her so I'm anxious to see how the next couple of weeks play out. My uncle tested positive a few months ago, mid 60s heavy smoker and diabetic but he pulled through like it was just a yearly flu so I'm hoping I have whatever gene is keeping him alive.

I'm almost fully back to normal except random bouts of extreme nausea, but that might just be existential dread.

I've had the 'Rona since Saturday Jan 16th and its still persisting. The symptoms are playing round robin, its not happening all at once; there will be hours before I get one of the symptoms flare up and then it will go away again.. I've had vertigo, fever, headache, a very minor cough now and then, no appetite, nausea, diarrhea . It doesn't feel dangerous so far, just enough to make me miserable.
To follow up on this. Mother went into the hospital for 4 days a week prior to that post. Comes back and suddenly everyone in the household gets symptoms suspiciously like covid. Eventually she declines to the point that I force her back into the hospital where she was formally tested and declared positive. She suffers from C.O.P.D. and is on oxygen 24/7 so it was a serious issue. She wasn't sent there because of COVID though, she had water on the heart and a serious infection in her legs, the COVID was just an extra portion of suffering. She progressively got worse and more hypoxic as her blood oxygen went down into the 60s and at one point the mid 50s as the COVID allowed Pnemonia to set in. She was clear to the staff that she was not to be put on a ventilator and if she progressed to that point just let her expire. Eventually she managed to pull through and was tired of being in the hospital after two and a half weeks and forcefully discharged herself. She lasted a week before she swan dived with kidney issues and a second different strain of Pnemonia. She was in for a week before being cleared and sent to a rehab facility. Morale of the story? Don't smoke a pack a day for 40 years. My father who is his late 70s also caught COVID at the same time and had almost no symptoms, no appetite and a cough from time to time.

As for me, the covid symptoms lasted a week before they faded off. They weren't very severe to begin with, just made me miserable. Any other time period and I probably wouldn't have called out from work.

Nurse was ranting about the 'truth about vaccines' and was an antivaxxer (while giving me a flu shot)

Gott'a say, that is almost hysterically funny. Who knew crazy came in all shapes and different uniforms, eh? Wonder how long afore she gets the boot.

Hope ya get pal, gran a few years ago was slowly falling down the dementia path, and again, it was the pneumonia that finally sealed her coffin, fingers crossed for your family n'all.

I'm glad my older relatives I interact with are now mostly vaccinated. I couldn't care less if I live or die but I couldn't live with myself if I accidentally killed a family member by stupidly getting the coof. Now I don't care if I get the coof.

I've got both shots already. Never got the coof despite going out to bars 2 days/week and working for a delivery service.

Got my 2nd shot this morning. Feel fucking awful already, chills, exhaustion, diffuse body pain. I know this is just my immune system cranking out antibodies and ultimately it's a good thing but it's definitely not a good feel right now. Not saying I wouldn't do it again, just saying if you do you should probably give yourself the opportunity to take the next day off.

You'd be surprised how many nurses believe crazy shit like antivaxxery and worse. Nursing education purports to instill critical thinking but doesn't seem to always do the best job.

I talked to a relative today who got the second shot and is having all the fun bullshit going on and went to the doctor about something else and mentioned it. She said something interesting and it's that if you get the bad effects on the first shot it probably means you already had the virus and didn't know it.

My girlfriend's parents got through it alright, worst symptom for the mom was fatigue and her dad just couldn't taste anything. She quarantined with them to take care of them and she never showed any symptoms, she's tested negative twice and is back to the usual.

Looking at Twatter and Instagram you'd think nurse education mostly instills nothing but a sense of massive self-importance, arrogance, and some minor practical skills.

Looking at actual nurses, though, in my experience they have a wealth of practical experience, while doctors are often a batch of giddy idiots almost incapable of normal human interaction.
