What do you think of Kreia's philosophy?

• don't depend on anyone or anything for power, this includes money or the charity of others (money is a way of getting goods and services from others)
• don't help those who can't help themselves if there is nothing in on it for you (she says something about keeping those who can't/won't fight their own battles dependent for profit),
• let people fight their own battles and never take them away from them,
• never live for anyone or an ideology,
• don't be seduced by the prey/predator dynamic as real power comes from within and not others.
• to manipulate a crowd it takes more than raw power, gives example of demagogy but says enlightenment rather than dogma is better

TL;DR power comes from within, not money or services or things you can take from others, weak people are weak because they won't fight their own battles, take advantage of weak people, don't fight their battles for them but make them dependent on you instead (makes sense when you think that not fighting your own battles = finding some cope or the other).

There is a whole series of books about popular culture and philosophy, e.g. Star Wars and Philosophy - there are books such as Rick and Morty and Philosophy, Simpsons and Philosophy and the like. If you like starting boring cocktail party conversations with autists and having a springboard into the most useless college major before gender studies was invented, I can recommend that series of books.

I like the novelty of throwing Nietzsche into Star Wars, it made for a good antagonist. I am a fan of individualistic schools of thought, but I also don't follow any specific philosophy or code because that shit is for nerds.

So essentially Objectivism? Eh, I can understand it as a pragmatic philosophy. Doesn't have a very strong metaphysical or epistemological underpinning, but no worse than most modern philosophies.

I'm reading The Ultimate Star Wars and Philosophy. I'm enjoying it so far.
I was never much into Star Wars.

If you are going to that much trouble, why not read about real-world philosophy? Why does everything have to be tied to a product now? I'm no commie, but people are WAY too deep in the pockets of corporations. They already shape people's opinons and beliefs enough as it is, but you are going out of your way to read a book about how this movie series designed to sell children's toys is the key to philosophy?


Nothing against you in particular, just on of those things that kinda shows a larger problem with society as a whole to me.
