Lachlan is not even self-aware is he? He and people he replied with are painting all people they disagrees/dislikes as some kind of horrible group. Totally not what news and social media did the same thing for last a few years with The Last Jedi, female Ghostbusters, a portion of MCU, new Charlie Angels and Joker. Disney has been trying to pander everyone for this episode, bringing Palpatine - Death Star back for old fans, hyping an "awesome" finale for the new fans, collaborating with Fortnite to hope they can get more kids to buy their toys. Because they know this is such a shit show, they are scrappling everything at bottom of barrel, praying the movie is a successful, at least not as bad as TLJ total gross.

I do know a lot about what his movies are about and why they get so much praise (female protagonists, themes of pacifism and moral ambiguity between protagonist and antagonist and such). So if someone who has watched his work can find it in them to go through this and give a tl;dr, much appreciated. (sidenote: if you've never heard Zeria speak, you're in for a ride buddy.)

Wasn't a lot of Porco Rosso a metaphor for Miyazaki's disillusionment with communism and communists? Basically, from my understanding Miyazaki started off heavily sympathetic to communism and then became gradually disillusioned by the behavior of communist regimes, eventually becoming more of a George Orwell style democratic socialist who was critical of communism.
So you can see how someone who wanted to spread the idea that Miyazaki is a Marxist would probably have a decent amount of material to pick from to "prove" it, but would be presenting a dishonest picture, either as deliberate deception or because they're exceptional.
Either way, I don't really see how the idea that an admittedly very creative and talented man who never practiced communism, and actually worked heavily within the capitalist system to bring us animated movies of young girls going on magical journeys involving witches n' shit, held communist beliefs, is any kind of good argument in favor of communism. Everything Miyazaki accomplished, he accomplished under capitalism, and notably never attempted to move to a communist country, despite many of them being extremely prominent in his lifetime.

I remember one time Lachlan admitted to be quite sex-positive, don't have the tweet. To be fair, it's quite obvious since he retweets quite many NSFW artworks on both of his accounts, his personal account is now back to public. But this makes one tweet that he retweeted very irony to me.
