Alt-Right political commentator Lauren Southern has been banned from Pateron for violating the terms of service. Naturally her fans have rushed to defend her claiming that Pateron is attacking the right to freedom of speech.

I'm more interested in what she could have POSSIBLY done to get banned. People use Patreon as a literal pornography distribution service (like Ali Rapp), to collect money for jobs they aren't actually and have never done (Zoe Quinn, Brianna Wu, ect), and even worse (Shadman).

What the fuck could Lauren Southern have done? Does Patreon even have a real TOS? Or does it and ignore SJW types (like twitter).

I did some digging around because zero information is provided in this thread or Southern's Twitter feed about the actual reason for the ban beyond vague statements of a "terms of service violation."

Her page itself says nothing but that is was "removed for not complying with Patreon Community Guidelines."

I suspect that Patreon did not get very specific in the reasoning they provided to Southern herself, because if she was explicitly told this was over Defend Europe I'm sure she'd be telling everyone that and milking it (EDIT - damn word filter, lol) for all it's worth.

Patreon purveyors are are generally parasites. "Pay me now and you might get what you want later" is a shit dubious system and if you don't understand why then donate $100 to my patreon and I'll develop an answer for you within the next five years.

That being said, nobody should be surprised that this shit dubious system is ran by shit dubious people. Laura Southern probably didn't do anything wrong (in this case) other than commit crimethink.
