First one I played was Ocarina of Time, while I tried my best and made it pretty far into the game I was never quite able to beat it as a kid, I got stuck at some point, though I did eventually play the whole thing.

Wind Waker is my personal fav because it's special to me being the first one I beat and just loved it's art style and the sailing, I'm still pissed we never got a Cube follow up, I'd trade TP for that any day.

Majora's Mask is weird, I dig it's unique art style and the time loop mechanic, but the dungeons are completely tedious slogs, like the one where you have to keep switching the flow of water back and forth.

Wouldn't get around to playing A Link To The Past until way later but yeah, it's a classic, first 2D Zelda I beat was Minish Cap, which I loved, but also haven't played since it came out, so it's not super fresh in my memory.

Breath of The Wild is legit one of the best games I've ever played, but it does have a few flaws, mainly I wish the story was a little deeper.

Of course, those were the other issues, but for me the biggest one was a pretty shallow story, lacking the twists and turns of something like Ocarina's story.

But see, that's the issue with BoTW, it's almost entirely backstory with very little happening in the "current" story, which basically boils down to "Link wakes up and then goes to fight Ganon"

It was lacking something like Link's relationships with the girls he meets in Ocarina or all the villagers little stories in Majora's Mask, there was a little bit of that but not much or much that really sticks out in the memory.

Link's Awakening's remake was pretty good, didn't list it though because it's just similar enough to the Game Boy one that it can just share its placement.

Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess are all three games that I tried at one point but just didn't stick with for one reason or another. Wind Waker's one where if I try to think about my reasoning, it sounds really stupid, because I kept failing some stealth section at the very beginning of the game and just never touched it again, I must have been really upset over something that day, but that's whats stuck in my head this whole time, and I have zero desire to go give it another chance.

I like the concept of a bright and cheery Zelda game, a lot of people seem to love it, and it looks like a game I should like, but I guess it's just not meant to be

You often wonder why I hate the Hollywoodization and over done story telling in video games, and this is exactly why.

That shit was hardly there. A lot of that is you filling in the blanks with your imagination. Something that has really become a lost art in gaming.

Ocarina of Time is one of those games where if you played it at a certain age and at a certain time it really did have a special magic to it that I guess would be hard to replicate if you played it for the first time today, I'm just thankful I got to play it when I did.

What I will say that absolutely holds up about Ocarina today is the story, the way it plays out it simply "feels" like an actual fairy tale or legend and the soundtrack, without a doubt one of the all time great soundtracks to a game, it perfectly nailed the "vibe" the game was going for and I think it's one of the main reasons why the game has the legendary status it has today.

As an 8 year old, I would basically just fuck around and make up my own little stories and shit after I beat the game. I guess it was like fanfiction but I didn't write it down, I just fucked around in the game world.

Of course I was poor and only got like 2 games a year max so I had to make that shit work.

It makes me wonder if that's part of the secret as to why so many people seemingly love Skyrim. As far as story goes, the game is actually pretty fucking basic. I'd argue it's not much deeper than Ocarina of Time outside of there being voice work.

I love working under stress and I'm prone to doing shit last minute, so I always try to cram damn near everything in last moments of a cycle.

Characters are great too. One of few Zeldas I would repeatedlly care to 100%, or rather, feel incensed to care.

I like Majoras Mask because it was the first game I played where characters felt alive due to their schedule.

While I'm sure there are other games that have highly scripted NPC's with lives, I can't remember playing them.

I last played it in 2017 and I think it still holds up too but for whatever reason it's controversial now to really heap praise on Ocarina probably because people went so hard into that for years that it became kind of obnoxious I guess.

But in fairness even playing it again in 2017 I was waxing nostalgic for my memories of playing it years before, I can't honestly say what someone would think of the game never having played it before today.

But as I said, the dungeons in Majora's Mask are just weirdly tedious and unfun, like having to constantly change the flow of water or the only time you have to LEAVE a dungeon completely in order to sole a puzzle within that dungeon.

But the overworld in that game, the NPC schedules and the time loop mechanic are indeed great.

Kind of out of topic, but Final fantasy XIII lightnings return is kind of similar to MM, in that you have a set time to finish the main and side quests, I liked it.

I’m not ranking these, but I’m wondering how would we rank this

TP: average, game tries way too fucking hard to be dark and epic because that's what the fans wanted, and most items are completely worthless after their dungeon. but besides that it's an alright game, nothing egregiously bad but nothing specially good.
WW: KINO. The dungeons, music and items are amazing, the sea might be barren but it does have some really cool secrets and sidequests. Easily my favorite 3D zelda.
SS (sieg heil): I have a big love hate relationship with this game: on one hand i think the items and dungeons are some of the best the series had, but on the other the lineal nature of the game coupled with the most retarded backtracking ever, and the shitty filler like having to kill the avocado monster 3 times kind of kills most positive feelings i could have for this game.
MM: pretty fun, i usually hate time limits but i usually found it pretty lenient here, the main dungeons are annoying but the overworld challenges and the more small dungeons like the deku palace, the pirate fortress and the skulltula houses are good. Main 2 problems i have are that most of the masks are worthless beyond giving you 1 or 2 heart pieces, and that the ending feels extremely underwhelming, especially if you get the fierce deity mask, that shit completely rapes the final boss.
OoT: I don't care about the autist slapfights over if this game made some man child cum five thousand times or if it's aids incarnate, i found it equally fun to majora and i think both complement each other nicely and where one feels lacking the other makes up for it, like the dungeons being better in OoT but MM having better atmosphere and difficulty. Also as someone who only played the 64 versions and knows the 3DS port fixed this entirely: i hate that the aiming controls with the boomerang, arrows, slingshot, etc, are mirrored, and if you like mirrored controls you are subhuman filth.
LA: it's alright for what it is, and it's the only game with a dream theme that i know off that acknowledges most dreams are retarded shit like a goat catfishing the guy from simcity with a photo of princess peach. Played the GB one, i thought it was ass seeing the same message pop up everytime a mere pixel of link hugs a rock and other jank, i know the switch remake fixed most of that but that shit looks like funko pops so it's gay. Overall, the Oracle games completely shit on it, but that doesn't mean it's bad, just objectively inferior.
