Alright, with the voting out of the way lets think of stuff inward of our burgeoning empire than outward.

What to do with political dissidents/criminals/anybody we really don't like? We gonna 1984 this bitch for anybody not in line with our goals?

Personally I think forced conscription would do. That way we loose the undesirables, AND gain military presence. Win win situation if you ask me.

I played VIP back in the day, but it was already a little antiquated by the time I got into the game.

I've never played a Victoria game. Coloring map simulators aren't my forte, I only got into Paradox games when they released War of the Roses.

The conservative, nationalist approach is usually the better route for a growing empire, liberalism is only really sustainable in an affluent and secure society which 19th century Russia is not. The Ottoman empire has more to offer us at this point in history than most of Europe and Asia, and conquering their territory will enrich our populace without angering the UK and risking an unwinnable war.

A navy does feature in my plan so you get my support. also https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crimean_War this is why i recommend a slower expansion against the Ottomans because historically the Brits and the French sided with the turks against Russia and it went bad, the brits loved to cuck the Russians

Alright, despite no reasonable person ever thinking I should have any amount of political power, I'll tell you what I think we should do.

Party: Panslavic
Enemy: Ottomans, then fuck up Asia.
Ally: Prussia, so we can use them against the British, when we fuck up the Middle East, after Asia.

Ruling Party: Panslavic. It looks to give us the most immediate benefits at the start of things.

Where to expand: Free the Balkans, and since this will bring us into conflict with the Ottomans anyway, perhaps seizing portions of the Middle East can follow if it's feasible.

Who is our enemy: The Ottomans. No sense in doing this "club them in the head and take their holdings" shit by halves.

Who is our ally: Prussia. Having Britain would be nice, but from what I've gathered from that first post, they're going to come screaming our way at some point in their endless lust for tea and hookers eventually, "allies" or no.

I agree with most other members of the council that the Panslavic party is the most sensible option right now. The relation penalty from jingoism gives me pause, but it should be fine, riiight?

I feel that the way things are, we can easily put off colonizing China and central Asia until another day. The pressing matters are all on the western front, so I think that seizing the Balkans is our foremost priority.

Austria seems like a prime bullying target right now, so after we've taken the Balkans we can start carving out chunks of land for ourself with little fear of retaliation from other powers.

Allying with Prussia will give us a lot more breathing room in Europe as we pull our schemes, and hopefully will give us some protection in case the English come knocking.

Although I respect your opinion, Japan by herself is hardly worth channeling limited resources away from fronts facing the Anglos like the Baltic and Mediterranean, I believe a conflict with the Japs should be won by luring their forces in, then facing them in a decisive battle followed by grinding them down as they retreat from the steppe (An admittedly EU based tactic on my part, I dub it the Kutuzov Strategy after Mikhail Illarionovich Kutuzov, the Russian commander that gave Bonaparte his famous defeat in Russia only 24 years prior at the start of this game). The uncivilized Asians are hardly worth worrying about. Colonies are easily handed over in peace deals When we cream the frogs and lemeys.

You forget Japan can civilize tho (it's a game mechanic) and if they do so they become a rival, the USA could eventually become an enemy and we could make our own colonies from Uncivilized countries (some aren't far from us) to get resources and it open a second front to attack india if we fight the brits for it . We don't have to make a Pacific fleet now i'm just saying that it's an option one day if we have the resources for it
