Hamtaro was a Japanese children's book series by Ritsuko Kawai about taking care of hamsters which was then adopted into a manga about a group of hamsters having adventures and was then turned into a full anime series with 3 movies. It was relatively popular in America in the early 2000's.
for the record, here is the game's soundtrack
The opening cutscene shows a mysterious hamster causing mischief and then rushing to assault our protagonist.
But it was only a bad dream.
Boss makes fun of his unsightly visage and the text repeats what happened less than 5 seconds ago.
Subtle.
Bet you can't guess what happens.
GASP
Why would a dictionary being slightly damp cause him to forget entire phrases? Don't you guys have more than one dictionary? Why is Hamtaro on the cover?
Boss drops some knowledge.
If you haven't guessed by now, the objective of this game is to collect hamster slang.
Here are the main actions you will be using: Hello, Assault, Pick-Up and Dig.
You get a PLOT CRITICAL ITEM, but Boss is a simple construction worker and has no uses for love thermometers.
Boss nags at you a little more and then forces you outside to look for your partner character.
The only area you can go to is: Sunny Peak!
You can go back into the clubhouse if you'd like, but there isn't really anything you can do there except for look at the television to re-watch cutscenes and talk to the sleeping hamster for hints on what to do next.
Part 2 is on the way, unless I'm doing this all wrong and you want me to stop.
