My point was that you say things which follow trends, not things which follow a personal belief system - an obvious set of principles which can be identified and understood. That's what makes a grifter.
What's funny about the Encyclopedia Dramatica post is that it comes mere minutes after saying that the Kiwi Farms is bad because it doxes people. Yet, when it was convenient, you went to another doxing website and pulled the first thing you saw. This is the same sort of hypocrisy as in my original complaint about tagging CNN. Five hours later, you've learned what you've used is completely fabricated, so you've deleted it and apologized in private.
I think maybe if you had apologized in public I'd consider this more genuine. You had no problem telling 65,000 people that you thought I was a child torturer, perhaps the very worst thing you can accuse another person of being. You do have a problem telling those people you were mistaken. This DM comes across less of an olive branch and more like a threat (though I'm used to being threatened, so it may just be my impression). To clarify: I'm not asking for a public apology, I am saying that that would have been the most appropriate way to express sincere remorse for publicly propagating something so extremely vicious and extremely untrue. Making it private to begin with indicates a different intent, and that can't be walked back.
I have the unfortunate designation of libertarian. I think people should be able to say whatever they want, make money doing so, and keep their jobs while exercising this right. A person should only be fired over social media posts if they say things which indicate they are unfit for the job. That is how the United States used to work, but that system only functions if most people believe in it. However, even in my sphere, I see the increasing normalization of going after people's money just because they're someone they don't like or are working for a company they don't like. CNN will not be hurting over this random contributor being financially ruined for speaking out in anger during a time he saw his brothers being killed. Meanwhile, the people who should be calling it out as bullshit are cheering it on for contrived reasons. This works in the System's favor long-term.

I like your reply Null, but I've been forced to come to the opposite conclusion. I think the people that sell out free speech to protect their one thing they really care about never really cared about free speech to begin with. They were only interested in it to further porn, or drugs, or whatever.
Could be both. I also think for some people it could be a profit thing. Being conservative/pro freedom was profitable in 2015. Now YouTube and Twitter have made it so it isn't anymore, so they change thier belief system so they can keep their platform and continue making the same amount of money.
