He thought he was going to be a famous novel writer.I'm still trying to wrap my brain, why in the seven pineapples did he think that a Major degree in English was a good idea.
He also only thought that because he arrogantly thought that he would write something better than Paolini. He thought he was going to be a famous novel writer.
To be fair, eragon is pretty shit. It wouldn't take a lot of effort for a literate semicompetant highschool aged writer to do better. He also only thought that because he arrogantly thought that he would write something better than Paolini.
Because of course Lewis made his life choice entirely because some schmoe at the age of a teen wrote a book that got popular. His whole life has been chase clout for minimum effort if you really think about it.
It's one thing to write a book to see if you can do better. To be fair, eragon is pretty shit. It wouldn't take a lot of effort for a literate semicompetant highschool aged writer to do better.
But this is Lewis.
Does Barnes and Noble even sell comics. I do know they sell manga.
He used to say he actually enjoyed working retail before he did AT4W full time. He probably would have been happier if he'd stuck with that. Most likely he'd still be living at home working for minimum wage, but at least he'd be enjoying himself. And probably not married to a woman he can't stand. He worked at a Barnes & Noble I think. That's also where I heard he met Liz. Dunno if she was working there or not.
He could go back there putting books on the shelves and the berating everybody for buying crappy comic books before launching into a tirade on why that comic book sucks. Then ask them to support him on Patreon for providing that service to them.
Wonder how long it'll take for DC and Marvel to try and release Manga versions of their comics again. The graphic novel sections seem to be shrinking in these stores, as the Manga sections continues to grow.
You can't pay people to read DC and Marvel, but they love Manga.
Doubtful as it didn't catch on very well and they're both about the bottom line.Wonder how long it'll take for DC and Marvel to try and release Manga versions of their comics again.
I remember Stan Lee made his own manga and it went up like a fart in church. If Marvel or DC ever did get back into manga it would be more licensing than anything, but even then the rights to the biggest manga are already owned by either VIZ, SJ, or YenPress, so Marvel/DC would have to find like, legit indy manga artists to promote and hope they sell, which on one hand sounds like a good idea and could potentially be a healthier work environment for the mangaka (seriously those dudes get whipped hard), but at the same time could also potentially be detrimental since modern Marvel/DC are full of cucks who would undermine the writing style and cultural differences of the people coming from Japan with their own political views, which arguably they've been doing for years with their American writers as well (barring the obvious few).Wonder how long it'll take for DC and Marvel to try and release Manga versions of their comics again.
Lewis was a terrible influence. I looked up how to self publish because of him but self published indy comics have more pote tial than self published novels if you're good enough. To be fair, eragon is pretty shit. It wouldn't take a lot of effort for a literate semicompetant highschool aged writer to do better.
But this is Lewis.
Self-published novels can have a niche audience. It just depends on what you're aiming for. There's no shame in self-publishing but in Lewis' case there is because of the clear vanity nature of his """""""""writing."""""""""""Lewis was a terrible influence. I’m pretty sure anything has potential if you and your product is good enough and willing to go through the grind and the bullshit.Self-published novels can have a niche audience. Not just that, but plenty of author's have managed to climb into professional publishing because of their self-publishing endeavors. Larry Correia's first Monster Hunter book was self-published. It made the rounds until it ended up in the hands of Baen, where Correia has published ever since.Self-published novels can have a niche audience. It just depends on what you're aiming for. I think the issue is that Linkara’s shit falls flat the minute it goes outside his fanbase. Not just that, but plenty of author's have managed to climb into professional publishing because of their self-publishing endeavors. I wonder with his fanbase size and loyalty what somebody else would have been able to accomplish. I legitimately think he could be making millions yearly off his YouTube channel alone had it been run by somebody competent. Imagine that combined with him branching out into other fields. The guy would be set for life.
Lewis and his like don't think like that. He "Knows" he's competent, the problem is others can't see this. Because as we all know, criticism is only done for entertainment or trolling not for personal growth.I wonder with his fanbase size and loyalty what somebody else would have been able to accomplish. That was when he was on Blip, right?I think his highest income was around 70k yearly
