Exactly, we live in an age where people are finally realizing how long it takes the human brain to mature into what could be considered "an adult" and starting to respect that. Without the advent of modern psychology I doubt that society would have come to such an understanding.

Even the idea of consent being necessary at all is fairly novel in human society. A female's virginity was basically the property of the father. Rape only existed as a crime if the victim was a virgin and actually physically resisted, and the crime wasn't against the virgin, but in devaluing the daughter for marriage.

Not that I'm suggesting doing away with any of these modern ethical qualms. We have only had vaccinations for a couple hundred years, too, and they're well worth keeping.

In the UK it took until Jimmy Saville got convicted of being a pedo to make people realise "Hey , that person who was on kids tv in the 70s and seemed perfectly innocent? Yeah no, he's a pervert." Even Rolf Harris, a formerly much respected TV presenter was convicted. Shocked a LOT of people- he even went on TV and painted a portrait of the Queen once.

He started to attempt to defame the guy, blocking people on his hacked Twitter and harassing him on Skype. After ridding of the back door, the ex-friend had to help a few other YouTubers (all of whom were in contact with LionMaker) remove an identical virus. Before the friend could confront LionMaker, the two had a falling out.

The video ends with a message from Antoine Dodson (bed intruder guy) calling out LionMaker.

In addition to this we can consider child labour laws. Children can be seen as being considered as little more than property until quite recently and children are still used as labor/a source of income around the world.

Also, the average lifespan of people in the 'developed' world in the past hundred years has increased nearly 30 years depending on where you are looking. In 1880 in America a person could expect to live 35~40 years. Pedophiles like to twist the low ages of consent in the past to meet their needs.

I am not so good with math so someone else can double check but an average lifespan of 40 with an age of consent of 10 would be more or less equal to an average lifespan of 70 and an age of consent of 17/18, would it not? I might be making myself sound like an ass now though...

What the fuck? This legitimately creeped me out. That part about pressuring a kid to stay in a rented house with him was the most disturbing part. And no one bothered to speak out about this until now?

Part of the insidiousness of Savile's MO was that he basically hid himself in plain sight. He cultivated an image of harmless eccentricity that deflected suspicion away from him, in a sort of horrible double bluff, and enabled him to get away with, for example, saying seriously dodgy things on national television (0:42), because people thought, "Well, surely a paedo wouldn't make themselves look like a paedo, would they?" It was like the equivalent of being correctly accused of a crime and then replying "Yes, of course I did it," but in a sarcastic voice so everyone thinks you're joking.

RE sudden influx of paedos: like others have pointed out, paedophilia has a long history, and it probably isn't any more prevalent now than it's ever been; it's just more visible. I really don't think that visibility is because of people becoming more sympathetic, though, at least not in the UK. Attitudes towards paedophilia are largely vitriolic -- remember, Tumblr isn't representative of the public. The death threats in tabloid comment sections represent the public.

If anything, we probably think it's happening more now because 1) we hear about it more often, through constant news reports and things in popular culture like To Catch A Predator, and 2) it's kind of easier to be a paedophile now. Whereas some might not have wanted to take the risk of loitering outside schools with bags of sweets, or physically trading photographs with other paedos, now any schlub can stay at home and make shitty Minecraft videos or convince some kid on a forum to send them nudes.

Also, proud paedophiles have been around since at least the '70s.

This can go 2 ways: either LionMaker is lying and being a total scumbag again, or LionMaker is completely innocent and has had his reputation completely ruined by Keemstar. This is getting interesting.

A few days ago, Keemstar got in trouble for accusing an elderly RuneScape streamer of being a pedophile. He alleged that his "team" got the story, using his resemblance to another pedophile as evidence. Despite taking the video down after an hour or so, the man was getting death threats, and some edgy h4x0rs threatening to dox/hack him. He did try and compensate, but here's a point.

LionMaker makes a lot of good points, and backs most of them up with evidence. The fact that he points at that right before his Twitter got hacked, Keemstar sent him that message, is suspicious, especially when you consider that Keemstar affiliates himself with a number of hacking groups. By the way, the "Who is Keemstar?" part is 100% true. Those videos have been going around for a while now. If all of this video is true, then could Keemstar be the real dramacow?

I'm curious to see how this plays out.
