Live Action Teen Titans - Fuck Batman

I watched the first episode.

It's bad.

So we are introduced to 4 characters, Raven, Robin, Starfire, and Beast Boy.

Of them, Raven and Starfire have no idea what's going on, and neither do the audience. I'm guessing they are going for a mystery, but it was an extremely poor introduction to the characters. Raven's kinda the main focus of the episode, so it's not as bad. The show just goes off for 10 awful minutes of a B plot with Starfire.

Speaking of Starfire, they worked hard to make her look bad. The fur coat makes her look bulky, and the wig makes her head look freakishly large. Ditch the coat, color her natural hair, give her a little orange accent make up on the face and I think she'd look fine.

Robin was fine introduction wise. The murder rampage alley fight was worse than iron fist choreography. I'm not sure if we're in Venom SWAT team scene territory, where we are suppose to believe the absurd violence didn't kill anyone. The criminal he is after is clearly left alive with a warning (to stop beating his young daughter), but he puts a pistol slide into a guys neck. So...

Beast Boy is just a teaser at the end where he's using his powers to steal video games.

I'll give it some time, as it stands is worse than Supergirl, can't say if it's better or worse than Legends of Tomorrow (though it definitely doesn't have anyone as entertaining as Heatwave and Captain Cold).

The CGI in the show isn't actually too bad. Her hair glows with energy, and her skin gets orange accents when she burns three mobsters(?) to carbon foam.

Beast Boy as a tiger committing petty theft also looked better than I expected. Not great, but I was expecting a lot worse.
So, it's basically like a slightly higher budget CW show?

Alternate title: Two Twitch-streamers leaving their home. Not even fucking Marvel dyes the hair of their heroes this much.

I mean the whole reason they have bright colors is cus it's a medium aimed at kids. Nobody wants to read a comic book with nothing but brown tones, which is what DC ended up being all about, but now it's suddenly the opposite? Make up your fucking mind.

They still managed to make those colors look muted and depressing in post production

So going off the YouTube ads I’m suddenly seeing, Starfire appears not to be an alien but instaed a secret government experiment or something with amnesia.

Because edgy.
Fucking hell, they can't even get her backstory right?

What's the point of having Starfire if they'll use as little about her as possible? Might as well be a new character.

So, I watched Episodes 2-4

Episode 2 is a fucking train wreck. Mainly cause I'm a fucking sperg and Hawk and Dove are AWFUL. They are not magic, they are just people in costumes, they seem to be addicted to prescription drugs, Hawk and Dove are a couple, they are keeping the profits of crime fighting, and Dick either cucked Hawk, or him and Dove were a thing before they were. It wasn't very clear. They had a kinda neat thing with a weird nuclear family that were like programed assassins, but otherwise it was awful. There isn't an iota of the characters in there, Hawk and Dove are essentially a masked vigilante couple and I assume they were used cause that's all WB would give them. They horrifically maim bad guys with a grin, then get all self righteous and judgemental when Dick does it.

Episode 3 was fine, they start fleshing out the characters, they start filling in the story finally.

Episode 4 was a trailer for the Doom Patrol show. No Cyborg though. I don't even have the faintest idea of what the Doom Patrol is, but I actually really liked the cast. I'm legitimately interested in seeing Doom Patrol based on this episode. It had this weird campy 90's vibe to it. The cast all had charisma with each other and didn't all act like brutal, masochistic dickwads. On the Titan's side of things, it was again fine. The show is kinda getting it's legs, and while far from good, didn't egregiously upset my capeshit spergery. If they can straighten the path a little. Lose the grimdork edgey bull shit, straighten out Starfire's hair and take that fur coat off of her, and start being heroes, I may actually come out of the second half of this season being positive.

Sorry, I should say IF.

I know next to nothing about Hawk and Doce and even I can tell that sounds like the exact opposite of what those characters are suppose to be.

If the Comics industry wasn't filled with such loonies right now, we'd be in a prime political situation for Hawk and Dove. The entire premise of Hawk and Dove is that they are on completely opposite sides of the spectrum. The point is that neither extreme is correct, and the duo succeed in finding compromise between their ideals.

I feel like a strong writer than treated both sides with a fair hand, having Dove be a reasonable depiction of a social justice type(not full SJW) and Hawk as conservative (but not alright boogieman), and trackled the current drive to make American politics as divisive as possible, you could have a really good critique of the Trump era. While punching ninjas.

However, I don't think there is a writer that's currently in the industry that can represent a Trump supporter as anything more than Mengela meets I Spit on Your Grave, and even so, I don't think they could publish it with out creatives revolting. I know DC is far less cucked than Marvel, but I thinks they get by on being mostly apolitical, and making Vertigo a social justice pressure valve to keep their nut jobs placated.

Yeah so Ii am fucking mad at the makers of the show for turning the edge way past 12: I know Goldenage Batman killed but damn son it wasn't as like they did here, Dick Grayson split from Batman because he wants to avoid being a murderer like him AND they gave Jason Todd a new backstory, ow he murdered before meeting Batman

I hope this fucking show tanks hard and drags everyone involved career because this is plain terrible

Oh fuck's I just looked it up and no it wasn't Jason Todd backstory, it Dick who killed his family killers. What's a term for "worse than hacks" because this is below hack writer level of writer

So it's not know if it is really happening, an elseworlds (A what-if sort of story) or just in Dick Grayson mind but Batman is in the last episode of the series and looks like he has snapped since he's seen killing criminal left and right so a fight between Batman and a Robin is happening.
Terrible
