I believe that this has been talked about before.
We have sections of emoticons
based on Chris and Jace. We also have multiple proposed lolcow smilies in the suggestion thread.
And now and are official.
I propose making a new "Lolcows" section of emoticons, and adding in a section of lolcow themed smilies.

We can't rate posts in this subforum anymore, so I can't rate this "agree," so here's my post saying I agree with this suggestion and I think it's a great idea!

I back this wholeheartedly, we should definitely have icons for the longterm cows. For example Phil doesn't have his own icon and he has a whole subforum dedicated to him!

Dobson is another good example, his thread has over 800 pages and has over 1 million views. You wouldn't even have to look for an icon, the overlayed picture on his thread would be perfect.

The only problem I would see with this is getting a good image for the smilie and people demanding that their personal cow gets one.

I'd like to see smileys for:
ADF - at least a couple of these. Maybe one of him as his current potato self, and one of Occupy-era ADF in his "Chinese" gear. Also some ADF-related emoticons like a block of Mexican cheese, a bicycle, a road sign, etc
Iconoclast - hands-down my favourite lolcow, most of the photos he uploads to the internet are pretty much emoticon resolution already
DSP - has an active thread, has a very memetic face
Dobby - active thread, blue bear is easy to smilify
Pixy - again, probably could have a couple of emoticons with various Pixy poses
ForeverKailyn - could we have a meta-smiley for this thread, for use in responding to the more egregious "I'm prettier than Kai" trollshielding?

The only problem with that is we'd end up needing to compensate people who make smileys because there's nobody on staff who does that sort of thing. And we wouldn't want to wing it and learn as we go because people who pay deserve quality work.

Maybe we could have a blanket rule stating that a lolcow's thread must reach X pages before they're eligible for a smiley? It would cut down on people asking for smilies for their pet lolcows.
