Lolcows and Media Franchises -

I've noticed that lolcows, usually artcows and careercows, don't just say they're making a webcomic/novel/whatever. They always say they're working on a 'franchise' or a series, often with hilariously unrealistic expectations of a multimedia IP with games and webshows and the like.

These fantasies usually involve lots of misused and misplaced corporate jargon like trademarks and copyrights, and there is always lots of words dedicated to shit that does not exist and shows no signs of being worked on.

Why is this and why is this Cargo Cult Media bullshit such a common behavior among cows?

Some people just have that high an expectation, even if they aren't even remotely any good (see Chris, Dobson, Daddy Derek, and so on).

It's just human instinct. And a complete and utter lack of comprehension as to how not being lazy works.

Autists aren't interested in creating an original work of art or expressing themselves. They just want to imitate whatever media property they're obsessed with.

The Sonic Fan Wiki is full of people who believe their OCs should have their own spin-off shows. Some of the bio pages even have preferred voice actors for these characters.

They want to be known and recognized, inspired by the works that have similarly gained popularity.
They also may want to have diversity within the media, and not want to stay to one story. I've often had this problem of trying to stick to one story/powerlevel
