Most of the ones I follow are internet famous; so they often have a steady stream of paypigs or YT/similar revenue. Whether dumb or not, lolcows often know the art of the grift once they establish their ‘niche’ and associated audience.

The one trait I repeatedly see across lolcowdom is narcissism. I suspect this precludes them, in their mind, from menial shit like working or life responsibilities. They are the chosen ones, the right ones, the beautiful ones, the pioneers. Why the fuck then would most of them waste time on study and professional betterment when dumb donors, rapt attention or autism bux can keep them afloat?
