man, I can't stay on top of all the things

anyway. I'm looking for a 4K display for over the mantle to handle stuff like a geochron clock and general display from a PC (computer stuff, not really dedicated 'gaming' or lots of TV though I'm sure videos and occasional sports will get shown on it as that "party TV")

looking for something
-in the 55" range
- long duty cycle (almost always on type stuff)
-hopefully really crisp bright (ie don't really need that cinema look for movies)
-wide viewing angle
-thinish/ "bezeless"
-do NOT care if it has sound/speakers
-do NOT care if it has a tuner (2-3 HDMIs would be fine)
-do NOT care if it has any smart functions

basically I'm just looking for a video display/monitor, I don't need TV features, SMart TV or gaming features

thoughts?

I've been using a 43 inch monitor from LG for a few years now and have absolutely loved it. However, those are discontinued and aren't as big as you're looking for. In the 55 inch range you're pretty much limited to TV's, Business Displays, and those very high end Gaming Monitors Nvidia was making a little while back. You'll have the most variety with TV's, though they will have smart shit in them. Large format monitors are just a somewhat niche market these days, and the ones they do have are generally targeted at the very high end market and have high prices to reflect that.

TCL has a cheap 4k TV. I know someone who has it as one of those TV's in their office that is on ~9-10 hours a day, and sometimes gets left on overnight. Cheap, thin, decent picture quality. I linked the walmart one to show you how low the prices can go.

Thin bezel (from what I can remember) and has a pretty good viewing angle since people watch it from all areas of the waiting room. The only issue is the inbuilt speakers are ass, so you should use your own. But as a note, you can't use your speakers if they have an RCA output.
