Oh, not sure which part you're addressing; my big beef is with him offering flat coloring as a commission service on other people's lineart without permission, that's the big kicker here.

Mostly the part where other artists are still accepting his commissions. My stance on him offering whatever services is, from an obviously outsider standpoint, that he's free to offer anything, as long as he isn't getting commissions. Should he start flat colouring and probably ruining other people's art, then it becomes an issue and the community should ostracize him even further.

Essentially, he should be free to carry on howling into a void as long as he gets no answers. And that applies to him commissioning new art as well, since there are artists who at least implicitly enable his behaviour by not calling him out for his shitty colour jobs.

Something that I just thought of; despite literal hundreds of pages documenting Lou's behavior, I have to say it's still shocking to me that there are still a handful of people willing to support him in spite of all that. And honestly? I literally cannot for the life of me figure out why.

There are furries out there who have done legitimately bad stuff or just aren't good people (eg Kero and JasonaFex) and in spite of their terrible behavior and actions, they still have white knights, and you could theoretically argue that the reason people might be willing to support them is that they like their content. Obviously that doesn't make it right, but you can at least see a little bit of justification for their support of those shitty individuals.

That being said, what benefit would anyone possibly get to being Lou's friend? He doesn't put out any content, he's not entertaining on social media (or at least he's entertaining for the wrong reasons), and the second you say something he disagrees with, you're dead to him and apparently worse than Hitler. I can at least understand wanting to support a friend who was called out for something and wanting to believe your friend over the angry mob calling them out, but I also think there's a big difference between being a friend and being completely ignorant. Several of his white knights have even claimed to read this thread and yet are still willing to support him, which just completely baffles me.

If you've ever read the Lowtax thread of KF, there actually exists a large chunk of the Somethingawful forums who were absolutely willing to overlook Lowtax having multiple police reports filed against him for assault simply because the police reports were posted on KF, which apparently makes the records invalid despite all of them being public records that anyone could freely lookup.

Lou reminds me a lot of DSP, they both have a lot on common. They are both surrounded by white knights despite tons of well-documented shitty behavior, and they both have accrued gigantic hate followings that primarily observe just to document it all and watch as they alienate what few legitimate fans are left.

I've never thought about that before (because I really don't think about furfaggy shit and try hard to not have my precious thought processes used to think about such), but I can totally understand how incredibly rude and shitty it would be for the artist. Some people have a very difficult time admitting they were wrong about someone/something. It's often because their pride gets in the way of being honest with themselves. "I really like so-and-so's channel about cartoon animals banging, so what people are saying about so-and-so MUST be fake! There's no way they enjoy putting on their fur suit and raping puppies to death, because I am smart and a good judge of character. Everyone else is wrong, and that just proves how stupid everyone else is compared to me!" It's all about protecting their pride from the pain of being wrong and and the realization that they couldn't tell that so-and-so is really a disgusting, sick-fuck degenerate.

That, and not everyone knows about this site, despite Lard-ass Louie bringing us up in his posts almost daily. They will happily continue to ignore the truth and allow themselves to be used and manipulated by a monster because said monster keeps telling them that the truth is false and the people documenting and cataloging said truth are the real monsters.

Since Lou has acknowledged the point about advertising and sounds reasonably genuine about not knowing where to start. Surely there's writing groups online you can find. Find writing prompts. You can even probably find furry ones specifically, but why limit yourself? Hell, you like Wonder Woman? Fanfiction. It isn't highly regarded but it is still a step towards a portfolio of sorts, and it's practice. You gotta do free stuff (maybe ask your few current friends what they would read if you wrote it and then... Do it) that others take a liking to before they'll want to see more... But it sounds like you're more likely to get money if you figure out drawing. Even coloring, get out there and practice. Progress beyond flat color. Either way it would be a focus. You can find a new community (to maybe not alienate) and you'd have something to do and goals. And for advertising, post what you create. You want people to see it, and you need to see the critique so you can improve it. Even among the assholery on this thread is valuable information.

Rate me optimistic, I am a nice person. As amusing as Lou is I am one of those people who would be perfectly happy to see him improve himself.

Christ almighty, well, I read it and... Do they not get any people submitting stories for this thing? Because while short stories admittedly aren't my jam and that's not a whole lot of space to tell a self-encapsulated story, that's... not good.
His writing is as bad as ever, but there's something so quintessentially Lou about the story itself in that nothing happens. The main character, and I hesitate to call her a character because the entirety of her involvement is that she's a fox and there's a line about her getting big tiddies, goes to a ball game. It's supposed to be a big deal because there's a wolf furry on a human team and that's a new thing I guess? At this point the fox chick no longer has any involvement in the story. And then it's just literally a play-by-play of a ball game. I think the wolf furry wins.
This isn't a story, this is a one-page writing exercise of 'recap a ball game', but with furries and a vague mention of tits.

My guess is that they didn't have many furries who wanted to write sports-themed stuff, since I guess that's what the theme for the year was. Christ almighty I see why he doesn't use this to advertise, it's fucking terrible. If I was interested and read this as a sample I'd be actively DISCOURAGED from commissioning him. Might as well go find a wikipedia event summary of the same subject matter as whatever you want commissioned and then just add 'lupine' and 'vulpine' a bunch, you'd get about the same result except for the fact that wikipedia play-by-plays are legit more compelling than this.

There's no way I can talk about this without some power leveling, but I actually attended Anthrocon 2017 and distinctly remember reading this story when I was waiting in the registration line and laughing with my friends about how amateurish it was. My friends honestly thought the person who wrote it was either a middle school student or someone with special needs and the Anthrocon staff put it in as some sort of monogamous gesture.

Never would I have imagined that I'd be reunited with the author of this "masterpiece" on Kiwi Farms three years later.
