It's almost like paying a decent amount for art gets you.... Decent art! Sure, the design itself is dumb, but for a $50 piece it's competent. As in, Proportions are not fucked, lineart is clean and defined, obviously done by someone who has experience.
Going budget for every piece of art just gives you a bunch of wonky artwork. Quality over quantity. Lou just hoardes stuff, art included.

Exactly. It's like Louie never heard the story of the Boy Who Cried Wolf before. If some fucking asshole (Louie) is coming forward on a frequent basis, sometimes multiple times in just a couple of weeks, with some emergency or "sudden and unexpected" problem that he "desperately needs money" to take care of, then eventually people will come to the assumption that he's just lying out his fat ass about it for free money. Especially when he always seems to also come forward bragging about some new expensive toy or artwork almost immediately after he gets money donated to help with his emergency. People aren't stupid and they can see through these scams quite easily, which is what has happened with Louie and has resulted in fewer and fewer donations.
I love how Louis invokes kiwifarms. There are definite shades of farmer, but I would argue that a lurker with no account is not one of us. We obviously heavily discourage cow tipping but that lurker is not a kiwifarmer- they're just using the site as a source of information. Having an account is undoubtably is a step towards being a farmer. Like Lou!
