Yeah, but it's also about the dangers of technology, modernisation and progress vs. tradition. There's an underlying theme that they were happier before the magic went out of the world and in the end the only way to rectify it is to recreate the old magic with the new. Most of the outrage mob would rather destroy the past completely than admit it has anything to teach us or of value.

The animation is what really makes this show. It's some of the best I have ever seen.

And despite the SJW vibes of the first one, I can't help my weakness for vicious monster chicks--especially ones that aren't the typical boring as fuck uwu cute human girl with wings and horns. Lots of these shorts make me think "damn, I totally wouldn't mind watching a whole series or movie based off this."

Can't wait to check out the rest tonight.

Only watched it because this was one of the reasons Fincher put a halt on Mindhunter (which pisses me off); but I like it and it eases the pain. It's like Black Mirror where each episode is it's own show and it works perfect for Netflix since the cunts cannot ever finish a fucking show series.

I really love the different styles, but S01E03 The Witness really stands out visually and I was really surprised Fincher wasn't the director. It had all his hallmarks with visual text representing sound. I'm still banging through season 1, so hold these opinions in that respect.

I just really love the switch to hyper-realistic animation to "regular" animation to experimental animation. I like it a lot because it's just interesting short story animations where I don't need to get emotionally invested throughout years. Too many shows just face plant after a few seasons.

The name of this series is so obnoxiously, stereotypically quirky that I have avoided it despite the talent behind it.

Season 2 of Love Death and Robots is out for any who like the series. It is available on the 7 seas.

Just finished season 2 with high hopes after watching all 18 episodes of season 1 last year and I regret to inform you all that it is a big disappointment. I think the biggest issue is the quantity, with only 8 episodes for season 2 vs 18. The larger number of episodes last season helped balance out the mediocre and good episodes to give an overall satisfying experience of curated scifi animated shorts with varying art styles. Episodes like Zima Blue, Good Hunting, and Alastair Reynold's story Beyond the Aquila Rift were all great with different animations styles, which really set the tone and balanced out the season.

However, season 2 only has 8 episodes, 3 of which were animated by the same studio, Blur Studios. Compared to season 1, 4/18 were animated by Blur. This obviously makes the season seem too homogeneous in art style. In addition, I felt many of the stories were lacking in completeness. There was either really good world building that was left incomplete or too little for the episodes where the characters are the focus. Even then for the character driven episodes, I think the characters were too hollow to leave any sort of impact.

Also the producers toned down the nudity compared to S1. There are no tits and only one episode has a dick in S2 compared to more occurrences of both in S1. Interesting observation take it as you will.

Just binged it all. It's pretty good, though some episodes fell flat for me so it's really up to personal taste. Luckily its an anthology with a pretty diverse styles and genres. The short run time of each episode is great too; none of the stories ever overstay their welcome.

My favorites so far are The Witness, The Drowned Giant, All Through the House, and Pop Squad. The Witness being a standout.
