Is being gainfully employed the norm or the exception when it comes to lolcows that are discussed on this forum?
A lot of employers look people up online nowadays to see any internet footprints they may have left. Needless to say, lolcows don't usually get employment because of said footprints, but it really all depends on the employer.

It's extremely rare to find lolcows that are employed.

You could probably create a chart but the traits most lolcows share; delusions of grandeur, chronic laziness, autism, poor hygiene, and being prone to outbursts don't help them with employment.

This entirely depends on the job. If it's a higher paid position then yes they'll do this. If it's a lower tier position it's highly unlikely. I've yet to meet an employer that actually called any of my references for instance.

The exception is if you apply to a job that handles cash or is otherwise prone to hiring criminals. Then you'll have to do a criminal background check and if you've committed a felony (like Chris) then you're shit out of luck.

It'd be more useful to list lolcows that are actually currently employed at legitimate positions. Gloria Tesch waitresses, Pixyteri worked at Home Depot, but quit to waitress and is looking for a new gig iirc after getting fired from a Chinese restaurant after about a week. Femalegoodra claimed to be employed at a decent job. I'm forgetting a few others

Chris has been charged but he has not actually been formally convicted in a court of law. Employers cannot legally asked about simply being arrested. But they can ask about whether you've been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor which resulted in a specific period of imprisonment.

Didn't he accept a guilty plea as part of a plea bargain? Wouldn't that show up on a criminal record check?

He did back in 2012, but part of the plea bargain involved the crime being downgraded to a misdemeanor, and I'd be very surprised if the same didn't happen with his latest run-in.

With regards to the topic at hand, in the current economy there's a hundred and one reasons why even a person with a good level of education and/or work history can have a job application rejected on sight, or be dropped into the "no hopers" category of a recruitment agency's files and be forgotten about. Lolcows have even less hope, as half of them probably wouldn't be able to fill in an application form without filling it with demented ramblings, and the ones that did manage to get an interview would likely say something that'd get the interview terminated in just a few minutes.
