“You steal, you get striked. Maybe ask a channel for permission before you take their content.”
--Lucy "Suzy Lu" Teale, in between uploading full length unedited episodes of anime behind a paywall
Big thanks to @zedkissed60 for providing information about Steejo, @Yotsubaaa for finding archives of the couple's tweets, @Burning Fanatic for the McDrama, and @You and @BelligerentSalmon for Suzy's power word.

Suzy Lu (power word: Lucy Teale) and Steejo (power word: Justin Slater) are a pair of gaming and anime reaction Youtubers from Glasgow, Scotland. Like all reaction Youtubers they put out lazy videos of themselves watching other peoples’ content, offering no commentary beyond occasionally ooking like monkeys while staring slackjawed at the screen. The pair would be indistinguishable from other reaction channels if it weren’t for their massive egos. In between futilely trying to dodge DMCA copyright strikes from the likes of TV Tokyo for their infringing use of copyrighted anime material, Suzy and Steejo have been trying to silence criticism against them by abusing Youtube’s copyright and community guidelines systems. Their actions are reminiscent of MundaneMatt, all the way down to Suzy showing her flagging history on a livestream alongside Keemstar as the host screams “WAIT A MINUTE SUZY NO” after coming up with excuses for over an hour.

But unlike Matt, there is something more sinister going on with Suzy and Justin. Suzy's forehead is casting a dark shadow across the Youtube platform.

Suzy
Suzy is a bog standard thot, producing lazy videos while her simps over-inflate her ego. She makes her money off lonely weebs by letting them pretend they’re watching anime with a woman for 17-25 minutes at a time. Her bread and butter are popular series such as Demon Slayer, Naruto, and One Piece. She was even briefly featured in “Youtube Rewind 2019,” a surprising and not at all suspicious feat for someone with only 350k subs at the time.
youtube_youtuberewind_suzyappearance.pngsocialblade_suzlugme_dec5subcount.png

Prior to 2018 Suzy was a relative nobody in the world of internet drama. The most that happened was a brief episode in 2017, when she mocked McDonalds employees striking for higher wages. Twitter and "news" outlets were quick to point out the hilarity of someone who sits on her ass playing video games all day telling other people they don't deserve a livable wage.

Unsurprisingly, infringing on the copyright of some of Japan’s largest media networks has resulted in Suzy getting into hot water. Her Youtube channel was taken down (temporarily) for copyright infringement and she has received multiple DMCA takedown requests on her website by MX International and Aniplex of America.
lumendatabase_mxinternational_firstDMCAagainstsuzylucouk.png

While Suzy has big enough balls to poke Japan in the eye over and over again, she and her forehead are incredibly thin skinned. She is known to hit videos criticizing her with DMCA takedown requests or community guideline strikes for “harassment and cyberbullying,” such as Tipster’s interview with a lawyer discussing whether a video she struck met Fair Use. After striking a video she is quick to mock her critics on Twitter.
twitter_suzylugme_begonenobody.pngtwitter_suzylugme_responsetorenoperative.pngtwitter_suzylugme_mumsbasement.png

When criticized for her abuse of the system, she hides behind the excuse that she can’t be held responsible because it’s ultimately Youtube who decides whether to hand out strikes. This is like a driver saying they aren't responsible for vehicular manslaughter because it was ultimately the car that crushed the victim’s skull and ribs.

Steejo
Steejo is Suzy’s boyfriend. He puts out content similar to hers, though because he lacks tits he is markedly less successful, with roughly 50k subscribers compared to Suzy’s 375k subs. When not watching anime or playing video games he spends his waking hours white knighting for Suzy on Twitter and Youtube.

Steejo claims to have a law degree and studied international property law. If you have even the slightest knowledge of copyright law, you should be wondering how the fuck a studied lawman could think uploading largely unedited copyrighted content with no commentary (or in the case of Suzy’s Patreon, completely unedited full length episodes of copyrighted content) is legal.
It’s also strange he won’t reveal where he studied law. He loves to talk about how he's a lawyer and advises Suzy on issues surrounding copyright, yet balks at the opportunity to whip out his alma mater to really show the haters what's what. He says he won't reveal his education pedigree for fear of being doxed.
twitter_steejo_lawschooltweets01.png

The real reason he won't say which law school he went to is because Steejo never went to law school and does not have a law degree. He graduated from the BA Hons Business School at the University of Strathclyde, as indicated by him being part of their Management Development Programme (a core part of Strathclyde’s business degree curriculum) and a Facebook post by his (step?)mother. His Linkedin lists no other higher education than Strathclyde and no employment with any law firm. There is no mention of him going back to school and attaining a law degree on his or his family's social media. At most, he took a few business law courses while getting his undergraduate.

Suzy and Steejo Take Japan
Suzy Lu’s anime reaction videos are typical bottom of the barrel garbage. She offers little to no commentary besides “That’s cool!” or “Wow!” while showing large chunks of footage from whatever show she’s watching. Sitting through one of her videos is akin to being stuck in a movie theater next to an obnoxious kid who feels the need to vocalize his reaction to every little plot point.

While her Youtube videos have SOME editing, such as screwing with the opacity of the anime insert to escape bot detection and doing brief cutaways to say stupid shit that was just explained in the scene, her Patreon is another story. There she links to privated Vimeo uploads of completely unedited videos of her watching anime. No cuts, no opacity tricks. Just full length anime episodes with Suzy occasionally talking in between airing out her giant front teeth.

With no transformation being done to the source material, her use of copyrighted content is highly unlikely to be considered within Fair Use and is in violation of copyright laws. Suzy has been made painfully aware of this multiple times.

On December 27, 2019 Suzy’s channel was hit with multiple copyright strikes by TV Tokyo for her unlawful use of nearly full length episodes of Naruto. As is standard procedure on Youtube, Suzy’s channel was terminated for having more than three strikes against it. This termination lasted for less than 48 hours. On December 29 she returned with a video titled “What The F Happened??”
Suzy, being a re’tarded thot with haggis for brains, couldn’t take the hint that she needed to stop fucking with one of Japan’s biggest television networks. She declared she was going to sue TV Tokyo for “illegally” striking her channel. As of this writing there are no signs of a lawsuit being filed. She also claimed she had people at Youtube removing the strikes from her channel, without giving TV Tokyo 10 business days to begin court action as is required by law. If true, this means Youtube is violating Safe Harbor copyright law and putting themselves at risk of legal action.

On January 30, 2020 Suzy launched her own site, suzylu.co.uk, and began uploading her anime reaction videos there. She genuinely believes hosting her videos off Youtube and simply blocking the site in Asia makes her safe from the likes of TV Tokyo.

She even tried to play off Crunchyroll ads being featured on her site as proof she had carte blanche to use whatever anime footage she wanted. She does not have a business deal with Crunchyroll, those ads were placed by Google Adsense which randomizes ads based on keywords.
twitter_suzylugme_crunchyrollads.png

Using her own site gives her the added benefit of forcing her simpaboos to turn off that pesky ad block if they want to watch their waifu gawk at cartoons.
suzylucouk_ads.png

To the surprise of no one this move did not dissuade the companies who actually own the material she’s uploading. As of this writing, 12 DMCAs have been filed against her site by MX International and Aniplex of America, targeting over 200 of her site’s pages and getting them removed from Google.
Other media companies whose copyright she is in violation of, such as VIZ Media, are being tipped off by the public. But it’s not trolls pissed over some 4 out of 10 e-girl making a buck off their precious Boku No Hero Academia that are trying to take her down. Suzy and Steejo have earned themselves a growing wave of outrage among Youtubers because of their abuse of Youtube’s copyright system and community guidelines to silence criticism against them.

Fair Use For Me but Not For Thee
Suzy could have gotten away with stealing anime footage with little attention from the public, but her thin skin and massive ego got in the way. With the help of Justin she has been on a flagging and striking spree across Youtube. Numerous videos which criticize or mock her have been taken down. Youtube’s strike system also means the creators of these videos are further silenced by having their ability to upload videos restricted. This has been going on for over a year and shows no sign of stopping.

It began on March 11, 2019 when Suzy filed a copyright strike against Mark After Dark’s The Last Guardian VR video, which opened with a clip making fun of Suzy for her exaggerated reaction to the same game. Suzy's response to claim she was in the right because she has copyrighted her face.
twitter_markafterdark_march11strikefromsuzy.pngtwitter_suzylugme_iownthecopyrighttomyface.jpg

This sparked outrage among smaller Youtube news and drama channels like GG Reloaded and Tipster, who began milking the situation for all it was worth. They quickly pointed out the hypocrisy of Suzy, who makes her living off copyrighted content, complaining about someone else using her content. They even dug up a tweet from 2016 which revealed Suzy had livestreamed BBC footage of the 2016 US presidential election, a direct violation of copyright.

On March 21 Suzy posted a video titled "Addressing The Hate - What ACTUALLY Happened!" where she played victim. She said she couldn't understand why she was getting shit thrown at her for filing a strike against Mark's channel. She admitted she used BBC's content in a non-Fair Use manner, but tried to say that it wasn't wrong because she wasn't doing it with the intent to grow her channel or doing it maliciously.

On March 25 Tipster did a livestream interviewing lawyer Youtuber Ian Corzine to discuss Suzy striking Mark's video. Ian said the clip would most likely be considered Fair Use based on case law and that Suzy was in the wrong. Suzy responded by flagging the stream VOD and getting it taken down.

On March 28 Suzy repealed her copyright strike on Mark, and Tipster was able to reupload his Ian Corzine interview.
That same night Justin went on a livestream show called RFC AFTER HOURS hosted by AugieRFC.
Steejo attempted to defend Suzy from questioning while claiming she couldn’t come on to defend herself because she was picking up boulders “walking their dog.” This “walk” went on for over an hour and a half. After two hours Suzy finally came on just to tell everyone they were nobodies and she didn't have to defend herself. Justin sent a screencap of Suzy’s flagging history, revealing she had filed harassment complaints against three of GG Reloaded’s videos about her. The scroll bar was visible at the side of the screencap indicating her flag history went further than just those three.
suzylu_flaghistorymarch2019.png

After this things went quiet on the striking front for a year. But Suzy and the wrath of her billboard sized forehead was rekindled in March 2020, when John Swan took a photo from her Instagram to try and measure the size of her forehead. She deleted the photo from her Instagram so she could take down John's tweet featuring the photo by filing a privacy complaint. On March 29 John uploaded a video of his findings to Youtube, revealing Suzy's forehead was an earth shattering 3.1 inches in length from brow to hairline.
suzysbigassforehead.png
Suzy was very displeased to have the true nature of her forehead revealed and got the video pulled for harassment. Mysteriously, Suzy had advanced knowledge of the video being removed.
twitter_johnswan_foreheadstrike.pngtwitter_johnswan_suzyhadadvancedknowledge.pngtwitter_suzylu_advanceknowledgeofstrikes.jpg

John attempted to appeal the strike, citing the Meme Insider’s video measuring Jacksfilms’s forehead, which had inspired him to do the Suzy video, as an example of this kind of content being allowed on the platform. His appeal was denied. He has since reuploaded the video to Bitchute and Mega.

Emboldened by this reminder of her power, Suzy turned her eyes back on Tipster. On April 2 she flagged three videos he did about her on his #TipsterNews channel for bullying and harassment and got them removed. It's highly likely she only targeted three videos, despite Tipster doing several more videos about her, because she thought it would result in his channel getting the fatal three strikes. However, if multiple videos are flagged at the same time, Youtube will now only issue one strike for the entire bulk flagging. This prevented Tipster's main channel from getting terminated. He still received a strike and his ability to upload videos and make posts on his community tab was restricted for a week.

On April 3 Suzy announced this was only the beginning. An hour later she started backtracking, claiming she hadn't filed any strikes or flagged any videos since Mark's back in March 2019 despite proving on live on stream that she flagged GG Reloaded after targeting Mark. Two hours later she changed her story yet again, admitting she does flag videos but "only ones [she's] unhappy with."
twitter_suzylu_onlythebeginning.pngtwitter_suzylu_lyingaboutflagging.pngtwitter_suzylu_admittingtoflaggingtipster.png

That same day John Swan retaliated with “Suzy Lu: The Most Problematic YouTuber You’ve Never Heard Of,” a 33 minute expose of Suzy and Steejo’s numerous transgressions against Youtubers and copyright law. Several times in the video he called Justin a cuck, and he brought up Suzy flagging his video about her forehead. A few days after the video was uploaded Suzy’s channel was showing a drop in subscribers.
socialblade_suzylugme_dropinsubs.png

On April 9 John’s video was pulled for “harassment and cyberbullying.” He was forced to reupload a version with all mentions of Suzy’s forehead and all mentions of Justin being a cuck censored or cut entirely.

SimpTube
As you’ve probably sensed by this point, Youtube likes Suzy. Youtube really likes Suzy. When she began false flagging in early 2019, the theory was she had a lackey or two at Youtube to do her bidding for her. There was little other explanation for how something as simple as an interview with a lawyer over Fair Use could be construed as harassing her.

This theory began to crack and show signs of something much bigger going on when Suzy got into "YouTube Rewind 2019." As previously mentioned, she had just broken 350k subscribers when the video premiered. And that's just the premiere date. When you factor in how long these videos take to produce, you realize she was even smaller when she was selected. It wasn't even a matter of her reaction video to "Youtube Rewind 2018" going viral, as after a year it still has yet to hit 100k views. Yet she somehow got featured alongside Youtube giants like Casey Neistat (12 million subs) and h3h3 (6.6 million subs), in a video all about celebrating people who had hit million and billion milestones on the platform.

These concerns only grew when she somehow got her channel back in late December 2019. By rubber stamping her appeals against TV Tokyo's DMCAs without giving TV Tokyo the opportunity to pursue legal action, Youtube may have violated Safe Harbor (Online Copyright Infringement Liability Limitations Act). The possibility of this had been hinted at when she first struck Mark as she said she "talked to people at Youtube about Fair Use," though this could also just be her misspeaking as is the nature of idiots. The reinstating of her channel, however, is not just an idiot stumbling over their words. People at Youtube put their holiday vacations on hold to get her channel back and told a major corporation to go fuck themselves.

Any inkling that Youtube wasn't deliberately playing favorites with Suzy was broken on April 10, 2020. The official TeamYoutube Twitter responded to John Swan's tweet complaining about Suzy striking his second video on her. With an incredibly passive aggressive tone, they effectively announced Suzy was under their protection and any mockery of her massive, disgusting, unsightly, mutant forehead was absolutely unacceptable.
twitter_teamyoutube_protectingsuzy.png
Youtube has gone full Twitch, putting themselves at legal risk and further alienating its already pissed off userbase just to protect some rat toothed skank and her not-a-lawyer boyfriend.

Nice work on the OP! :semperfidelis:

Yeah, it's a shame she DFE'd her Twitter before they could be archived. I checked the Wayback machine and the archive.md root lists to see if there was anything left. Came up with a few archived tweets related to her MundaneMatt tribute/copyright shenanigans:

https://archive.fo/pgNv2 (Bitching about the Mark copyright thing)
https://archive.fo/2khw4 (the "Imagine doing a video dedicated..." tweet linked in your OP)
https://archive.fo/zuvQ1 ("this is just the beginning")
https://archive.fo/SRScd (Suzy's totally not a flaggot, guys)
https://archive.fo/Xlfjl ("I don't mass flag videos. Only ones I'm unhappy with.")

https://web.archive.org/web/2020021...com/SuzyLuOfficial/status/1229941355973091328
('licensing restrictions.')
https://web.archive.org/web/2020040...com/SuzyLuOfficial/status/1248343926433615875
(arguing about the difference between copyright strikes and community guidelines strikes)

There's lots more in the Wayback Machine for Suzy's Twitter that I haven't checked yet, not sure how much of it is useful though.

Similarly with Steejo's Twitter: archive.md root / Wayback machine (although a lot of his tweets seem to redirect randomly in the Wayback machine for some reason):
https://archive.fo/yoSYI (Suzy was "terminated due to a bug in YouTube's systems" and freedom of speech sperging)

When it comes to her, it's worth remembering Hanlon's razor: Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

That's one of the theories spreading around in regards to her motives for antagonising portions of YouTube users.

Whose dick did she have to suck at YouTube HQ to get this kind of privileged treatment? The amount of effort and risk (legal and financial) that YT appears to be going to to protect her (despite her channel's small size) goes way beyond the usual "I know a guy who works at [x company]" and implies a much deeper level of integration with YouTube/Google decisionmakers. I am not used to seeing this outside of the Rat King.
Also, I am very much looking forward to seeing her future contribution(s) to the "Take That Off the Goddamn Internet" subforum.

The first obvious sign of Justin not being an actual international copyright lawyer is that he's trying to live off of a failing Youtube channel, instead of being busy making millions per year.
The second obvious sign is that he isn't denying any relations to this dumb THOT who's violating every known international copyright law.

Also, reaction youtubers should be shot, incinerated, and have their ashes dumped in one of those methane clathrate sinkholes in Siberia.

Somebody mention her abnormally large forehead. That's where she houses her simpleton ego.

How can you copyright a face? I know this is repeating myself but you shouldn't cry wolf with copyright when you yourself upload full length anime episodes.

If you are to include a poll, I would suggest setting up a pool to see how many pages her thread will grow before she tries to suck off Null to get this thread removed or when she starts complaining about it.

Suzy Lu is one of the worst people on YouTube right now. Not only does she have undue amounts of influence and she's blatantly hypocritical, but she's also a massive cunt about it. Top hat me if you want, but nothing would give me more joy than to see that smug expression wiped off her face when she feels the repercussions to all her shitty behavior

I knew all about her seeing her "reaction" videos and from following Tipster. The fact that Youtube if going Twitch to defend her is beyond stupid. If TV Tokyo or another Japanese company went after her, I wouldn't have sympathy for her.

I find it absurd that her videos keep getting their strikes taken away. The YouTube copyright system is so broken and draconian on these types of things usually, but in a rare case where it actually is copyright infringement, they go out of their way to protect her. There must be someone who really wants to fuck her higher up at YouTube. I really hope this turns into a real lawsuit between her and TV Tokyo, it'd be comedy gold.

They likely won't be protecting her when TVTokyo comes a-knocking. There's a strong case for direct copyright infringement, and there could arguably be a case for saying that YouTube engaged in indirect infringement and that it violated safe harbor provisions by covering for an infringer after being put on notice of their activity. If there's enough money involved in litigating this case (I'm talking like at least $300K), this could go very far.

EDIT: The best thing to do would be to archive all tweets from both Suzy and YouTube. Depending on whether they engage in a mass deleting spree and there is a sufficient archive, this could get really funny if it's ever brought to trial.

@nonnewtonian Not much I can really say about the formatting. All of it looks pretty spot-on, so good job on that.
There are a few minor nitpicks I'd ask you to address and/or update:
  1. "Thin skinned weeb thot and her massive forehead, business major LARPing as a copyright lawyer, serial false flaggers, trying to sue TV Tokyo over Naruto reaction videos, Youtube’s favorite couple"
For the first point, you should clarify that Justin's the LARPing business major. When I first read it, I assumed it was Suzy. For the second point, I don't think "Youtube's favorite couple" should apply, since so much of what's written involves YouTube favoring Suzie in particular, and not really Justin at all. So perhaps change that to specify her instead of the two of them.
  2. "After this things went quiet on the striking front for several months. But Suzy and the wrath of her billboard sized forehead was rekindled in March 2020, when John Swan took a photo from her Instagram to try and measure the size of her forehead."
This part confuses me a bit. If the last known/mentioned interaction happened between AugieRFC and Justin (and Suzy) back in late March 2019, how could it go from several months of silence to a full-on year passing?
  3. While not at all necessary, I would recommend adding archive links to the YouTube pages of Suzys and Justin's videos. That way, view count, likes/dislikes, and comments can still be accounted for in case her videos get privated or taken down to hide evidence.

Will make those changes. The comments and likes/dislikes have been disabled on her channel for a while, it seems. I'll check if there's anything in archives or if there's videos that still have those features enabled.

On a more substantive note, here's Justin flipping his shit at Quarterpounder.

This hoe is going to finally turn people against YouTube, and I really can't say if its a good or bad thing. Hopefully this new shitstorm gets Alphabet to finally dump Susan, because after rumors and clear indicator's for years, YouTube is shown to have favorites they will protect. You can not claim to have a fair platform where you claim to allow people to have an income then turn around and manipulate the system where you fuck with income and promote others.

Also, I am very much looking forward to seeing her future contribution(s) to the "Take That Off the Goddamn Internet" subforum.
I actually have two theories regarding this:
1. The situation involves an actual "My Dad owns Microsoft and will ban you on Xbox!"-type copypastas, where she has a relative or family friend with a lot of reach within the company. It's otherwise hard to imagine some random contact she has being capable of quickly removing all the strikes on her channel, getting YouTube's official account to publicly defend her on social media, and for her to be featured quite prominently in the beginning of YouTube Rewind 2019.
Now, the last point I'm somewhat willing to concede, as just searching up "youtube rewind 2018 reaction" brings her video up as one of the top 3 results. So for all I know, YouTube was super lazy for 2019 and just took the first, safest reaction video they could find and ran with it. Though even then, it still doesn't explain the prior two points mentioned about her videos + channel being actively protected by YouTube.
Screen Shot 2020-04-12 at 3.07.42 PM.png
2. Similar to how YouTube once backed Pewdiepie as the platform's golden boy up until the whole "What a Fucking N-" controversy, as well as Logan Paul up until his Suicide Forest scandal, there is a possibility that Suzy's being favored by the company and not by a single individual within it. I can't really attest as to why they would back her channel in particular, given how mediocre her views + sub numbers are, along with her content absolutely going against the platform's guidelines. My guess is that she's either part of some potential future project that YouTube wants to work with her + other "creators" on, or that she's part of some effort for YouTube to help boost small-to-mid-sized channels.

EDIT:
There's this hilariously bad video from 60 Minutes discussing how Susan and her company determine what kinds of videos get approved. Might be worth some food for thought as to imagine how employees determined Suzy's videos being within YouTube's guidelines.
