Excellent stream. The weekly updates on cow happenings is great, but a deep dive on specific cows always hits the spot. I know it sucks you need to do your research on them, but that was an actually glorious stream for someone who knew a little about Pants on Head (retarded).

I’m not sure I agree with you on what GG did with advertisers being what gave the corpos the idea to go through the banks and payment processors. I do agree with the point that it accomplished less than nothing though. It’s less that they took notes and more that they’re entirely incapable of letting go of a slight. The advertiser shit wasn’t novel when GG did it and it wasn’t even really successful as you said in the stream.

Interest groups have been doing targeted campaigns like this for ages. I don't see how it is that different from the common letter writing campaigns of the religious right during the 80's.

It's true that it has an outsized effect though, and I recall that some businesses would go by a general rule that 1 irate letter (or phone call etc.) is equal to 100 or 1000 customer/client/viewer impressions.

Maybe you can argue that the impact was novel, but in the grand schema, very few things are really new.

I’m not really disputing that either. I think it’s less that Josh is right to say that GG had anything to do with how things went and more to do with negative associations because everyone involved was disappointing. Sargon is a gross sexual deviant who thinks he can be a politician. Dick is much the same.
