Eh, I sorta don't get the culture war going on in magic since it basically has no effect on the actual game. You can make jace the mind sculptor a trans other kin and people will still play it because it's a good card.
I wonder what Jeremy's end game goal really is at this point. His non mtg, non drama videos barely have any views so he's stuck doing more mtg videos while also shitting all over it at the same time. If he had any hope that he could pressure hasbro into letting him back in, that's pretty much over after this pedo ring "scandal". Even without it, they can point to him retweeting daily stormer and his interviews where he gatekeeps the fuck out of magic as additional reasons not to let him back in.

He wanted to be a Sargon, and timed it horribly at a time when e-celebs, especially ones who take themselves incredibly seriously, were falling out of style and being eaten by their one time audience. The shit with the cosplayer and the resulting 12 MagicGates wasn't actually his first flirting with e-celeb status; if anyone had followed KiA with any regularly would have seen his videos posted every so often by non-regular posters, and they all had the same theme. "This renegade badass has run afoul the SJWs with his disregard for their censorship, but he's not letting them beat him!". Much like we've all sat there and watched happen in real time over the past few months. He had wanted to break into a cardgame flavored Mundane Matt or Metokur for a long time.
Above all else, Jeremy wanted to be a badass epic weener who could command a little mob to do his bidding ala Sargon. The fact that he thought this would be easily doable with his 'Army of 20,000 gamers!' shit in the immediate aftermath of the cosplayer incident was a good indication of what his intentions were after he became convinced he was in the position he wanted to be in. When it became obvious it wasn't working quite the way he expected, he had to repeatedly adjust on the fly. Except he didn't know what exactly needed to be adjusted, so ended up just flailing in every which direction under the impression he would hit the intended target at some point, and that nobody would mentioning the aforementioned flailing. So he gleefully threatens his perceived with his low-rent hit squad he got for himself... b-but he's also very intelligent and has all this evidence and friends in high places with damning dirt on you! Which he doesn't want to use, except sometimes he does! "But not really because I want to be taken seriously! ..except when I don't!".
tl;dr years after missing the boat on the 'cultural warrior insurgent', he tried again right around the time a civil war had broken out between those who take shit too seriously and those who are accused of not taking it seriously enough. In his infinite wisdom, he concluded he would just attempt to be both at once.

it's a dying industry like comics and publishing in general, and what happens in these industries is
1. they need to save money so they start hiring cheap people who are unqualified to do the job
2. the new hires do the job badly to no one's surprise
3. customers start complaining so the companies learn it's a bad idea to hire cheap cishet white guys when they could hire even cheaper transqueer POC women who are just as unqualified and also come with an army of online activists to shield them from criticism
4. the companies learn progressives only pay for things in likes and reblogs while driving their paying customers away, keep hemorrhaging money while their rotting core is stuffed with women and POCs, and eventually get sold for peanuts or fold entirely
the entire publishing industry is at stage 4 right now where it's flipped from 80+% men to 80+% women in just the past 2 decades, during which the industry has basically been in free fall
That's cool but this shit has been happening long before they changed "he" to "they" on magic cards man. WOTC has always been run hilariously awfully, just read all the horror stories about magic online.
Imo the difference between magic and say comic books is that changing the gender/pronoun of characters fundamentally changes the story going on since sjws can't help but make them Mary sues. In magic, the story and game are in two very different dimensions that rarely effect one another. Like I said, changing jace to be trans would change the story going on a decent bit but would make zero impact on the game.

However I am disappointed that a few Wizards employees (as others have posted pics of earlier) are making it about dumbass gender bullshit. All it should be is "This is an easy way to put less words on a card but have it say the same thing."
Sick and tired of hearing all this "non-binary" nonsense. The VERY FEW people that legit feel that way either liked the game already or didn't. And I guarantee you that it's not the cards themselves that make people feel unwelcome. It's entirely where and who you play with. There are dicks everywhere, just gotta find the place (or people) that you mesh best with.
Also, mostly unrelated: I went to the same LGS as Corbin Hosler for a good long while. Chill guy. When I knew him he was very in tune with the financial side of the game. If I'm remembering correctly, one time he sold a bunch of cards to afford furnishings for a house or apartment or something.
