I've had an old 2001 Gateway Pentium 4 computer that I've used as an excess crap server for my main machines. My cousin recently gave me her old 2006 e-Machine. I decided to swap the boards because the Gateway had more bays. Simple task right? Not quite..
3 hours and 7 dremel cutoff wheels later...
The I/O shield fits perfectly
Let's add another hard drive cage while we're at it.
All the guts installed and hooked up
I also added a large case fan and had to replace the power switch and LED from the e-Machine case.
I got exactly what I wanted without spending a dime.
Anyone else have a DIY project that solved a problem in an interesting or just money saving way?
