Hi, this is the thread where we discuss how we could rewrite Chris's world and characters to make them more interesting/parody them. I think Chris's world is interesting because it provides a bare minimum of characterization, meaning that it's easy to twist into something decent (Look at The Real Sonichu and Rosechu's Story). It's like fertilizer: it's shit, but beautiful things can grow from it.

Style Wild as a Ted Kaczynski style anarchist. He did grow up in the forest and no doubt would have some issues integrating to modern society (except CWCville).
Or Angelica as a depraved schizophernic IRA member who is driven by "God" to kill. She's barely kept under control by her devotion to Father.
Bubbles would be a stupid valley girl who would be the least evil member of the Combo. Of course, because she's borderline retarded, the others force her into committing various atrocities.
Wild: "Here, shoot this pig." Motions to police officer,
Gives Bubbles a Mauser C96.

Bubbles: "But, like, won't that hurt him?"
Wild: "No, your just... Putting him to sleep. He's very tired, but doesn't want to to go to bed. The pistol will put him to sleep."
Bubbles (clueless grin on her face):
"Oh, okie-dokie! Time for bedtime!"
Puts barrel on the cops forehead. The cop tries to scream, but his gag turns his protests into incoherent grunts.
Bubbles pulls the trigger. The pistol operates as expected.

Bubbles: "Yay, he went to sleep! I did a good thing today!"
Wild: "Yes. Now come, The Chaotic Combo has many more... good things... to do today in Father's name."
Bubbles skips off like an idiot, Wild trailing her.

For characters to be interesting, they need flaws and personality, something Chris' stable of recolors is sadly lacking. Just off the top of my head, without going too grimdark about it:

Sonichu might be more interesting if he was a well-meaning but bumbling idiot, who had great power but not the finesse to use it.
Punchy could work as a proud warrior who won't admit defeat, even if he's quite obviously beaten.
Magi-Chan could potentially be the most interesting character, if for example he could read people's minds, but couldn't turn this ability off, leading to potential problems as he tries to keep the things he knows about people (But isn't meant to) from getting out, and could serve to highlight flaws in other characters quite well.

Of course, in the actual comic this would never work, not just because Chris is a poor writer at best, but because he'd never let these flaws have any negative consequences for his precious characters, which is the only reason flaws make characters interesting in the first place.

I'd like to see Magi-Chan as a con artist in way over his head. His father was a petty crook who caught a break when Sonic the Hedgehog became popular started to make a living working as a cheap, unofficial Sonic impersonator, doing childrens' parties and store appearances etc. A lawsuit from the original Sonic put an end to this, and Magi-Chan's father quickly drank himself to death.

Magi-Chan drifted around for a while, until the appearance of the Chaotic Combo gave him his opportunity. Inventing a backstory involving psychic powers and being raised by Mewtwo, Magi-Chan worked his way into Mayor Chandler's confidence using nothing more than basic sleight of hand and simple cold reading. While Magi-Chan is clearly far brighter than the Mayor and the rest of the Chaotic Combo, he possesses none of their elemental or telekinetic powers - in a straight fight he'd stand no chance.

As the story progresses, we'd see exactly how far Magi-Chan will go to protect his secret. Finding himself with the resources of CWCville at his disposal, will he use this opportunity to take revenge upon Sonic the Hedgehog, or will he concentrate on doing what he can to mitigate the effects of the Mayor's bad leadership on the city? Will he act on the obvious tension between himself and Rosechu? What will he do when confronted with Silvana, an enemy who seemingly possesses actual psychic abilities?

I think it would be tough to make them interesting, and I dont think the story/universe is all that salvageable to be honest.
Its tough to salvage something that is basically one lonely persons wish fulfillment fantasy.
The only reason CWCville exists is that Chris found the real world so little to his liking.
It is a poorly drawn comic, filled with half-baked anime and video game rip offs, and shallow character archetypes of the aforementioned.
"Sonichu" truly is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Wild: "Yes. Now come, The Chaotic Combo has many more... good things... to do today in Father's name."

I dunno why, I just find this one line pretty chilling. I could picture the Chaotic Combo having really selfish, spoiled tastes, and would convince the people of CWCville that anything they'd do, right or wrong, would be because "this is what Father would want." They'd all have their separate corrupt personalities, but the very mention of Chris puts them all in a stammering haze because of how they idolize him, worship him, do everything in their power to satisfy both their and the whims of their "Father."

And hey, what about the villains? You'd have to give them motivation beyond "we hate Chris."
I mean, if you were making a parody it'd just be that Chris is a crappy mayor and the villains are actually good guys trying to remove him from power. If you were making it more like the actual series, it'd be much harder.
So, what about Gradon? What is his motivation? I mean, he has kind of an interesting concept, the physical embodiment of Chris's failures and anxieties. So, just throwing out ideas, Gradon wants Chris to be miserable because the worse Chris's "heart level" is, the closer Gradon is to being able to attain a human form. Gradon, instead of coming from nowhere, is a former criminal whose was cursed to live a sentient cloud of fear, failure, and anxiety bound to a staff. After 835 years, Gradon desperately wants to return to human form. Why does he want a human form? So he can go live a normal life as a human. So he can breath and drink and love and do all the things you can't do as a scepter.
And then add in an "old married couple" type relationship with MLW, where they're always bickering and snarking at each other.
How about taking blatant ripoff Giovanni and turning him into a not so blatant ripoff. So instead of being some Pokemon character, he's an immensely powerful head of a criminal empire who seeks to stake new turf in CWCville. See, not such a blatant ripoff now. And keep Reldnac as Chris's gay evil twin, but then add in better motives than "death to Chris". Like, he wants to impress his emotionally distant father by starting his own branch of villainy and he wants to stop Chris's homophobic policies.
There, by throwing in some cliche motives, Sonichu has been improved by 7.43%

All of Chris's characters are just playing along with his shit because he inherited a fucking city from his father and probably a ton of money as well. They only put up with his crap because theres a huge paycheck for all of them. They are terrible actors however and thats why all the dialogue is flat and uninteresting.

It would be better if the characters reflected the true nature of the shit they represent. However, he is so all over the fucking map you cant do that. Like, sonichu is chris living the life he wants with a wife and family, etc...but then you have chris there as well to sort of correct in the comics shit he cant control in his life, using the comic to express emotions he has for real people that dont wanna hear it or get revenge, etc. then of course theres naitsirhc who represents what i believe to be chris's actual deeply buried homosexual tendencies.

Know what? Fuck it. This is how you make it better, by having all these shitty characters be what they truly are.

Sounds pretty fucking catholic.

Anything anyone can do with these characters makes them more interesting by default. Anything. They are that flat.

A pretty easy one would be to make Rosechu a stepford housewife, or at least one who is constantly trying to fit Sonichu's idea of a perfect wife despite how much it runs her into the ground. Obvious? Sure, but look! Now she has some characterization! I'm such a good writer.

But seriously, because of how flat they are you can add even one trait to make them interesting. Bubbles is absent-minded, Angelica is hypocritical, Wild doesn't eat plants, Punchy likes poetry...

Riding on the coattails of @Chikinballs, I do agree that an interesting route would be a sort of psychological element to it all. Perhaps Chris must face his flaws (in the forms of the characters) in order to finally grow as a person? It'll never happen in reality, but as a story...?

Maybe something like Depths of Despair where he's dragged into his own mind and forced to face these manifestations?
