I found this lunatic through the #HeWillNotDivideUs hashtag on Twitter. He seemed to be incredibly bitter over channer shenanigans, so I tried to understand his angle.

Googling his email address reveals that he used to post his drawings on various 4chan boards including /pol/, /vp/, /i/ and /ic/ with the intent of getting people to commission him for art. In an effort to improve his drawing skills, MalDraw started making drawthreads on 4chan's /pol/ board, which he used to spawn an entire 28-chapter comic, The Adventures of Christ-Chan. After Trump's victory, he stopped drawing them in favour of bizarre political comics:

It seems that Trump's victory combined with him getting no attention for his art (a whopping $45/month on Patreon) made him incredibly frustrated with /pol/, so he has spent the past few months harassing the board out of spite. He is currently infamous over at the /hwndu/ offshoot for spamming the board via proxies and tor, and paying obsessive amounts of attention to any offsite chats they have going.

When MalDraw isn't stalking chans, he's drawing political comics about whatever they're doing while begging for Patreon money:

Regarding this Pewdiepie-gate...

It is painfully obvious from my days of browsing to alt right sites (dedicated my life btw, will never be bored of it, got a score to settle with one of the mods) that he is an /ourguy/ (alt right buzzword for a celebrity that shares their views or supports their far right movement). You might think, no, he's joking, its all just comedy, just teasing... No. I've watched his recent videos and in one of them, he said the British media is far worse than the Swedish media. Kinda strange because the Swedish media rarely talks about him, so why is the Swedish media bad? In the alt right movement, Swedish media is well known for them covering up the races of criminals if they're non white and apparently that's the only bad thing about it that the alt right disagrees with. So this one remark (of why the Swedish media is bad) is painfully obvious that Felix knows a thing or two about the alt right and seems to be agreeing with them.

Also. Regarding his response,
One might think, if Hitler was to be be accused of bad things that nobody agrees with during his election, wouldn't it be logical for him to deny the facts and blame the media instead, calling them "Lugenpresse"/Lying media?

Pewdiepie's definitely "redpilled" and him being unapologetic regarding his Anti-semitic and racist videos that got him in trouble and him shifting the blame to the media and his critiques truly shows that he's more than just joking.

Due to the nature of the chans it can be hard to determine if it is Malaysian Mike or someone else using a proxy, but he seems to have no concept of the flags on /pol/, or how thread specific IDs function. He will often reply to himself when his threads or b8posts fail to garner attention.

FemTrump is pretty cute, though. Practically a ripoff of the main character from nobunagun, which was an awful anime a couple years ago.

Something about his art makes me feel like a lot of it's been traced, or at least he's just closely imitating other artists. Sure, you can learn from tracing, but you arent LEARNING, you're just figuring out how to replicate. It's like if you were to try and teach yourself the alphabet by completing those writing books you give to toddlers? You'll know the letters but won't be able to understand what they are or how they fit together to mean anything.

It really stands out when you look at his colored works versus his normal political cartoons which strictly follow that refined "Sunday strip" comic illustration style, while his color art wouldnt be out of place in a low-grade deviantart group.

I know cartoon anatomy is wildly different from any applicable anatomy but this dude strikes me as not really having a good grasp of anatomy at all, so features are out of proportion in a way that doesnt seem intentional. Usually with cartoons characters will have disproportional anatomy but it will follow a sort of set of tropes to hint at a particular character. Like you could have a big buff guy and he'll have maybe a triangular overall contour with small beady eyes and a small upper head, a wide, huge jaw, wide shoulders and chest, but tiny legs and feet. This dude takes that, and applies it to normal people and tries to keep the rest of the anatomy the same so you have the Pewdiepie character with a huge fucking mouth and a cartoon head, but then the rest of it is trying to represent normal human anatomy, and stiff anatomy at that, and the juxtaposition is really disturbing.

Edit: Im an artsperg, but in particular he's got so many different "styles" even in just the four drawings in the OP and it's like, nobody can do that. You have to be a master artist to pull off something like that without your own style coming through, if you were to just freeform those drawings. That's why I think it's traced or he's very closely copying other arts that he's seen and liked. I would think, looking at them, the only thing that looks truly original is the colored art he did, of the dude holding a gun and wearing the praise kek shirt. And that's the weakest of the four. The Pewdiepie one also looks original, although the head looks like something he traced from someone else's art which is why it looks so out of place in addition to the cartoon head on a normal, overly stiff body.

I think he has a very sophomoric understanding of art and anatomy which is why it stands out so much. He learned from tracing and by vaguely understanding. So he has maybe some technical skill, but no talent or voice. And he definitely doesnt understand muscles. He knows the skeleton but not musculature which is why his anatomy is so stiff. A lot of people think anatomy stops at the skeleton. No, to be a good artist you actually have to understand a lot, it's musculature that makes a human, makes someone emotive and not just look like a lumpy stick figure. You have to have a doctors level understanding of anatomy to be a really, really good artist. That's what takes it to the next level, makes it look real and natural instead of just a stick figure with a traced cartoon head. Skeleton will give you the body, base, and structure, musculature will give you the voice and soul.

You can clearly see the difference between his Pewdiepie caricature where only the face and mouth (the ear is esp obvious, because it stands out compared to the rest of the head, it's stylized, but in a different way to the rest of the image) were mostly traced and pasted onto a head on a body, and the caricature of the 4Chan alt right dude which was clearly almost 100% traced. The latter is intentional, the artist had an idea of what they were doing and going for. The former is just Maldraw copying certain parts and characteristics he wants, and pasting them all together, leading to giraffe neck and weird, Frankenstein juxtaposition and shit like that.

It's hard for me to explain but it's something like, if you see and understand good art, you can tell bad art; the greats always make it look easy, and this is someone imitating that, but they dont truly get it or understand. So you can clearly tell they're just copying what they hear, but dont understand what they're saying.

It's literally the artistic form of Engrish.


TL;DR: You can tell the things he traces because his "tell" is that those things typically have more attention paid to them especially with regards to detail and shadow and shading. The illustrative style is him literally just copying something someone else did. He has no idea of light and shadow, or even style outside of that. If you see more than a few contour outlines, he's using a "reference" for whatever he's drawing.

So wait, hold up. This guy is charging that much for shitty traces that to most artists, ignoring the presence of tracing, would effectively be the sketch stage of a piece? That's absolutely outrageous in its own right. Hell, some of the best artists I know of still only charge $50 for single-character, full body, with color and soft shading.

So he made a "racist" pepe edit, then tried to counter it with a hillary pepe? It's like he's the counter-culture to the culture he's partially responsible for making, really weird as hell. Not to mention that he's too :autism: to understand that most people using the Hillary Pepe were using it ironically for bait threads and not to legitimately combat the alt-right.

In a way it reminds me of a lot of Devi Ever, when he was pro GG but flipflopped in the hopes of gaining relevance as a "trans woman against the goobergape harassers" or whatever.
