I actually feel a bit bad for baldy and the Hogg kid. They're getting a ton of attention and media spotlight now but by the end of the year (likely a lot sooner) no one will remember them and neither seem the type to handle that well. Watching them desperately try to stay relevant and reattain the spotlight once their 15 minutes are up should be amusing.

How anyone doesn't see these children as being completely astroturfed and manipulated by the Democratic Party is mind boggling. This isn't a 'spontaneous movement', but a play to secure the midterms for November. The Florida shooting wouldn't have been prevented by any new gun laws, as the kid wasn't even legally allowed to own that shit. It was a massive institutional and governmental failure on every level, from local to state to federal. What law are you going to put into place? The 'do your fucking jobs' law? Even if you removed all guns, the kid probably could still get them. And then the government still would have failed. A lot of bad recent mass shootings were institutional failures. People weren't supposed to have those guns, yet they did. So no new gun laws would have prevented those shootings.

Secondly, anyone who thinks that outlawing guns would be a quiet moment and people would just turn them all over is in for a fucking shock. I have no doubts it would trigger a civil war and I highly doubt the government and anti-gun people would come out on that side looking rosy.

This is going to end up like every other movement. It's astroturfed, it will eventually outstay its welcome and be forgotten about while politicians and rich libs whore these kids out for their own politics.

Nothing was done under an Obama admin. Nothing will be done under Trump.
