Or if someone is blatantly ignoring the law and running around open carry, they either get marked to be arrested later or are separated from the main group to be arrested. Most likely of all, they will probably set up, "do not enter" zones around important buildings and say to stay on the designated streets.

I think I would be more inclined to agree with you if Conservatives had fully mastered Black bloc tactics like the left has, but many boomers are the type who don't want to cause trouble while they peacefully protest so soft pressure usually can nullify any potential danger they would have as a mob. To some extent you saw this with the protests in VA in very early 2020, where there was such a fear of actual violence or a "flase flag" from the protesters themselves that they aggressively policed themselves from anyone trying to do anything outside of strict peaceful protest.

Very broadly I agree with you, but I think what I'm saying is less that the mass on the whole will do it, and more that agitators will be scouting for anyone in the group that looks particularly unhinged and target them specifically. While it's still unlikely that this goes anywhere, the possibility does exist and given the nature of firearms and large protests, it only takes this narrow possibility being tripped once to make chaos and headlines.
