The Doom community has grown from a tiny cesspool of spergs who could either make really fun WADs (Russian Overkill), or really shit wads (Terry/Doomguy2000). With a system that allows for unlimited imagination in designing custom maps, weapons, and other such visual goodies, there is one well known WAD notorious for polarizing the community, and that is Brutal Doom.

Brutal Doom is a wad that essentially adds a bunch of modern shooter shit into Doom, such as reloading, blood and gore everywhere, and naughty swearing (oh my!). The WAD is pretty edgy on its own, yet its mere mention causes doom fans to take sides and go to war with each other, an autism war between doom purists and edgy 12 year olds. Of course this mod has caused drama and shitstorms wherever it is brought up, and has been the source for all the current sperging of today's nostalgic FPS. Something akin to a playable copy of Cthulu could only be dreamt up by a fucking brazillian.

Marcos Abenate is a brazillian coder who is best known for two things: Drama and Brutal Doom. A self proclaimed "body builder", his stance on anyone who criticizes his work or himself is to sperg the fuck out and act like a 12 year old in public.

Due to this behavior, Marcos has been banned from numerous sites, including both Zandronum and Zdoom forums. His demeanor rubs off on his fans, and with the amount of unrestrained nagging of 12 year olds asking authors of other wads if BD is compatible, the staff of Zdoom were forced to post what could be equated to a "Stop talking about Brutal Doom" warning to their site.

One of the biggest known spats between Marcos and others involves an argument between him and another user on Zdoom's forums, ultimately ending in Marcos telling the other to kill themselves. While I unfortunately cannot find a link or archive to this sort of thing, there are numerous different accounts of the incident. The best I can find of relevance to this is the /vr/ archive discussing him.

Here is a review video from youtube about his mod and also putted in the comments he made. especially the one where he encouraged someone to commit suicide. which caused him to get banned from multiple doom forums.

there were rumors that the gore he used for his mod were police reports of actual dead people.

he's also known for being very edgy to people.

The main thing Mark's guilty of is being a massive edgelord and taking credit for other people's work, but really you can find way edgier posts from some of the other folks right here on the farms and being a thief doesn't really make one a cow. He doesn't really chimp out like a typical lolcow, you'd be hard pressed to find much content beyond the stuff OP already brought up.

HDoom? Not really, as far as I can tell. The guy who made it also worked on some of the Brutal Doom graphics, but that's about it. However, if you happen to come across anyone openly praising it in public I'd suggest doing a bit more digging into their post history. There's probably some pretty lulzworthy stuff to be found there.

First off : thanks for writing this description, updated it into the OP.

Second: While I agree with Null's stance on giving this thread a chance (i.e if you think the thread is bad and shouldn't exist please report instead of posting non-constructive feedback in the the thread itself), some of the criticism towards this thread are somewhat valid.

Right now it seems that the content on the Person of Interest is :
1. He's kinda edgy
2. He allegedly told someone to kill themselves (which we do here on the 'Farms all the time)

So from my perspective there definitely needs to be more concrete examples of the intended Person of Interest acting in a Lolcowish manner. Brutal Doom was / is really divisive among the fanbase : Some people loved it, some people thought it wasn't what DOOM was supposed to be, some people relished it's edginess while others hated it etc. However, at least to my understanding the mod's content itself wasn't really enough to make somebody a Lolcow (if it was something like that Furry Dating Sim mod project or something completely outlandish even for Terry .wads that might be a different thing) and it's an actually released mod, not Yandere Simulator / Bob's game tier eternity project that the fans keep supporting without hope for an actual release. So with all of that in mind, the content for a Lolcow thread centered around this person should be of the person themselves for the most part.

Another thing I want to note in advance is discussing DOOM the game and other mod projects. I personally know that it's very tempting to start discussing the game and other mod projects of similar nature or the game in general, but please, try to keep the discussion relevant to the Person of Interest and his creation.

For discussion about Doomworld in general, we have a separate Doomworld thread in Community Watch and for discussing the game itself as an off-topic interest, we have DOOM thread in Games.

If anything I'd have to suggest using wayback machine and going through third party sources to see if there are any screencaps, archives, or the like. It happened all in 2012-2013 so the whole thing isn't really archived as well, and unlike doomguy2k's (ironic?) sperging, SgtMark's shit got swept under the rug pretty quick, most likely due to the fact that BD won best wad at the cacowards.

I'd probably start off with 4chan archives. They fucking hate him.

His Doom mod is cool, I have it buried somewhere on my work PC. The guy seems kinda spergy but mot much is known about him (no shitspewing Twitter account, no funny Tumblr or FB). He might be a jew niggo hating Nazi but he doesn't show that facet very often. Let the thread be, see if anyone can dig up some more information.

Thought I might add some stuff about Mark since I've followed the guy for quite a while. Not much drama has happened with him since he's calmed down over the years and denounced the shit he did back a couple years ago. Most of the edgy stuff he did were jokes, such as the plasma rifle code mentioning that it "turns a white man into a nigger." Also, pretty sure that Mark himself was suicidal at one point. Don't quote me on that, though.

But in regards to sperging out? The only thing I'd bring up is some controversy between him and another dude working on an expansion for Brutal Doom called "Project Brutality." According to Mark, the PB developers had access to his early releases of v21 and stole content from there. I've spoken to some of the devs regarding this and they didn't really give me a straight answer. Some mentioned that they were "dark times" for the mod, which is a bit suspicious in itself. Anyway, after Mark found out about this, he got pretty pissed and included in one of his versions of v21 a script that crashed the person playing BD with PB. He removed it later, but the main developer of PB (whom goes by the name PA1NK1LL3R) said that it "broke computers." Whether or not this is true, many people denied it saying that a script on a doom source port couldn't break a computer, but only crash the game. Anyway, I could put more if I find anything else.
