War Marine Officer says Marine units should use LSD to gain edge over enemy -

In his paper, the Marine officer suggested that Marine units that need the psychological and mental edge partake in controlled microdosing, noting that the practice is known to “significantly heighten alertness, creativity, and problem solving,” and has been used by “scientists, Silicon Valley executives, biologists, biohackers, and others.”

“Like most hallucinogens, LSD mimics the effects of serotonin (a mood regulator),” Major Albayarak wrote.

Furthermore, the use of drugs such as MDMA can be used to treat Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

For the Major, however, the act of microdosing is all about giving the American warrior the edge -particularly when it comes to interpreting intel- without compromising discipline and good order.

“Though the idea is radical, it must be understood that this is neither a sideways attempt to allow Marines to ingest illicit substances nor to be mistaken as a half-baked attempt to recreate previously failed paranormal experiments,” he wrote.

Individuals such as late Apple CEO Steve Jobs were known for taking doses of LSD, with the tech legend claiming that it helped him immensely.

“Taking LSD was a profound experience, one of the most important things in my life,” Jobs said. “LSD shows you that there’s another side to the coin.”

There are recordings of the US Army trying this out in the 50's or sixties. It was sampled by an electronic artist named "Baby Mammoth" in the 90's some time (the sample sent me down this rabbit hole).
Fascinating stuff, if anything these tests go to show that organized hierarchies don't respond well to ego-destroying hallucinogens.

I've honestly thought about micro-dosing to help with focus and mood. Never had the balls to do it though, but if billionaire tech guys are doing I can see why he may think there a advantage to it.

I don't think you'd notice any dramatic or life altering effects. The difficult thing would be maintaining a steady supply of it in microdose quantities, since most of the major distributors have been shut down. There's also a lot of crap in the form of phenethylamine research chemicals mislabeled and sold as LSD.

LSD has always been microdosed. As to whether LSD would be effective in homeopathic doses of said microdose, who knows, because let's face it, most people who purport wanting this want to dose to get high when they say that's not the reason. Same as pot: the super-THC strains dominate especially in legal states, with "high-CBD" strains being, let's face it, less available and more expensive than in 1980.

I'm surprised nobody posted this video yet. The Ministry of Defence was testing the effects of LSD on Royal Marines in the 1960s.

I've never understood the appeal of lsd and methamphetamines to enhance military ability, this honestly seems like little payoff with too much negative aftereffects. If anything, dmt would be more beneficial, but maybe I'm just stupid.
