Still ongoing. It just got into the trial stage a while back instead of Waid and Zaid throwing endless compalints about jurisdiction and dismissals

It's no shocker that the suit has taken a back seat. Zaid was very busy for other reasons the past few months...
Waid and his lawyers keep filing suits to drag it out even longer [Zach updated everyone in a recent video]. He's clearly hoping Zach will run out of money and choose to drop it. I doubt Waid's making that much at Humanity First/Humanoids. Chances are he'll run out of money before Zach does.
He may be being funded. I find Zaid's involvement at least mildly suspicious. If Waid is paying for this attention whoring do-nothing clown himself, he's a fool.
I'm all for Waid losing eveything at this stage.

There's the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, considering Waid's pull in the industry they could easily be the ones bank rolling this. And it's a charity so he loses nothing if it ends up not helping.
As far as I know the CBLDF limits itself to defending the content in comics or comic creators who are unfairly maligned by the industry, not random spergs who happen to be big names in comics. By all rights they actually should be backing Ya Boi but of course, he is on the wrong side of history... dunno that they'd actually help out Waid instead, though, their better option is to ignore the situation entirely and pretend it's not happening.
Apparently DC isn't going under fast enough so now they've brought back Waid.

DC Universe, it’s time to make a decision on who to hire. You can either choose an up and coming web comic writer who may be able to bring fresh ideas to the table. Or you can choose an overly zealous dip shit who let his inability to handle criticism drag him kicking and screaming into a lawsuit.

Ya Boi would have to prove DC had a hand in it which I doubt since Waid was with Marvel at the time. And in general DC seems less likely to do that type of shit compared to Marvel from what I observed. That said, dragging in either company is highly unlikely unless some incredibly damning messages between the bigwigs and Waid come to surface.

The only code of conduct the comics industry has ever had is "Don't get caught in a tangible way."
Waid's already proven he can't hold up to that but that just means the companies are unlikely to feature him prominently again, not that anything has changed for them. Nor will it ever, especially considering they're owned by two of the biggest media conglomerates there are. If you're important enough your sins are swept under the rug, if you're not important enough you're just shown the door. This is one of the Big Two letting Waid peek back in the door to see if he might be worth getting out the broom for again, that's all, and their minds won't be changed by a frivolous lawsuit that wouldn't even make a blip in their law firm's billable hours.
Curious how they bring in Waid for a Q&A a little over two months after DC/Warner/AT&T shitcanned Dan DiDio.

Well he just practically Humainity First/Humanoids comics [known for making that Anitfa with Superpowers comics. And another one mocking Jesus Christ {if these spergs really want to be edgy let them mock Muhammed and then I'll give them credit}] so WB/AT&T must have brought Simp Waid back to be the final nail in the coffin.
I mean Disney is one of the major reasons the entertainment industry is so sleazy.
How much did you actually hear about Mark Hamill trying to abuse, gaslight, and harass a woman into aborting his grandchild? Didn't hear about it at all, no? Probably has something to do with the fact that it came out right about the time he was set to be in the sequel trilogy, they didn't want that. Similarly how much have you heard about Ewan McGregor getting MeToo'd? Slightly more than nothing, or nothing? Again, Disney's got an investment going on with him so they swept shit under the rug.
The comics industry has always been sleazy. Most female creators and black creators who haven't become good little obedient pets will tell you that the veneer of social consciousness and love for equality that is frequently blared from the pages is only skin deep, if that. I would say there's a small handful of creators, the ones that started the whole shebang, that probably were sincere, everything since then has just been insincere pandering. Behind the scenes it's been an orgy of sex pests and racists since the sixties.
