This is why you shouldn't fund any of this comic bullshit. Nothing good comes out of it. You can't fight Big Business in the West. Either buy your mainstream crap and like it, or don't and put your money elsewhere. I'd disagree. You shouldn't fund any of this bullshit if you think you're contributing to some kind of personal revenge fund where you think you're owed someone getting publicly face fucked for your amusement. If you just don't want to see someone get publicly raped, though, and you contributed to Meyer for that reason, you definitely got your money's worth.
In general, though, do not ever donate to any litigation fund where you think your money's worth is getting some other asshole publicly butt fucked. You aren't entitled to that and probably won't get it.
Personally, if you have to resort to donations for a lawsuit you probably shouldn't have bothered in the first place. You didn't have the money to start it, you probably don't have the money to finish it. People aren't always going to donate to you and in a lot of cases they want things to go by faster so they feel like they've contributed to something "great".
I'm going to have to disagree. If people want to donate to it enough to do so, and you have enough to go forward, do so. As disappointed as I am at the moment, I do think fuckwads like Waid may now think twice or three times or even four, and may choose not to do the stupid shit Waid did to get sued in this case. These fuckwad SJWs may at least realize that acting like this isn't free. They'll have to pay a price for it. And that price could have bought them a lot of Funko Pops instead of a lot of nothing.

So Waid asked "is there such a thing as non-consentual f-king?" - That's basically the most pro-rape thing I've heard since Nathan Larson (since he's basically insinuating that rape, or non-consensual sex doesn't exist).
For that matter, trying to "improve the status of women in comics" is almost like trying to "reduce the level of objectification of women in pornography or strip clubs" - comics have always just been wank material for 13-year old boys first and foremost - and honestly would any woman with a real career such as medicine, law, lower herself to working in something as infantile as comics?
I can't see anyone exclusively working in comics unless they're just too emotionally vapid and stunted to produce any "art" of value; if they had any actual talent they'd have moved on to writing deeper, adult oriented fiction instead of 15-minute ADHD plots written at a 12-year old's reading level.
This truth seems to hold no political or national boundaries (just look at the "status of women" in anime/manga, or how obsessed alt-right manchildren like Vox Day are with comics as well).
The best way to "improve the status of women in comics" would be to just throw them all in the garbage burner
(Some of the same probably applies to video games as well - but even video games have more potential than comics - given that big budget, story driven games like The Witcher, MGS, etc may contain several hours worth of plot-related content; while a comic's "plot" is meant to be simplistic enough for one to cram into 10-15 pages or 5 minutes of "reading" at the most).

No, but after seeing enough cows like Waid, MovieBob, etc having "status" in comic industries I think I've been permanently spoiled on them (and that doesn't even scratch the surface as far as anime/manga is concerned, where open pedophiles like Digibro/Pantsu are fairly well-known reviewers, Momokun is a popular personality at cons, etc).
Making comics is one thing, but I think a reason that Waid, Bob, Vox etc only make or review comics is due to emotionally-stuntedness and not being able to relate beyond a 10-12 year old level.
In comparison more mature authors have gone on to produce film screenplays, best-selling fiction, and so on - example, Peter Jackson did produce cheesy splatter films like Braindead/Dead Alive, but he also went on to produce the Lord of the Rings film trilogy.

So does Alan Moore's run on Swamp Thing and some of his indie work (although some of his other stuff reads like Moore's frozen in his angsty 17-year old phase). And that's not touching comics that are specifically written for adult audiences like Asterios Polyp or that one about Godel.
You're going to have stunted fucks in every field- Bob TMK doesn't even review comics: only Mahvel movies. But if you torched every field that has them, you'd probably be left with Thai shadow-puppet theatre.
