Watching Invincible, one of the many bad trends the MCU Kickstarted is "we need to evac everyone before the dumb action scene". It's an easy way to filler runtime without much need of cgi and it's both boring and ridiculous when ending the threat is far faster and safer.

I like how Justice League Unlimited handled it where it's implied the League does it whenever there's a crisis and you never see the stuff unless it's part of the plot like the Booster Gold episode or the one where they were in the middle of evacuating a volcanic island when Doomsday decided to come and fuck up Superman.

It’s sandwiched between Dune, No Time to Die and Top Gun: Maverick. The studios were scrambling to get the best possible release dates. The final quarter of 2021 is just stacked.

And I was very disappointed with both of them. I tend to think long term with these things and I don't see good things on the horizon considering the quality and the chilling effect on criticism of the MCU due to the politicization (which sucked in the comics too lol).

That's all well and good that you gave 'em a fair shot and didn't like them. but thing of it is you've repeatedly announced over and over again for what, a year and a half now? How badly you expect these things to suck and it doesn't even matter because you're going to cease following them anyway, so at what point are you realizing you're just wasting time and frustrating yourself?

1. I actually did expect them to be at least entertaining, especially FatWS judging from the trailers, I was sadly mistaken.

2. Let's see what came out in the last year...Oh wait nothing. Far from Home came out in 2019, and I actually did decide to see what some of the Phase 4 stuff would be like, but due to the long waiting time that wasn't possible, until now.
And having seen Wandavision, and FatWS, I see my fears were indeed correct. I have no interest in BW, and I am only going to watch Loki since I adhere to a three strike rule when it comes to things. I also btw, thought the trailer to Loki looked...okay. But my hopes are very low and if it disappoints, I am done, unless they make something super duper amazing which probably won't happen.
You deserve a star for not being a whiny shill though for once, well done. Hope you cherish it, especially when you are gonna be eating crow soon now that the MCU is starting up again. Don't get upset when eventually a show or movie does end up flopping. I am not gonna make a specific prediction because it's useless to do so, but it will eventually happen, unless they can somehow catch lightning in a bottle yet again and keep the hype going, one day one will come out which not many will care about and may even outright hate it.
But when that happens, who knows. They are making weird decisions and if they fuck up the Fantastic Four and X-Men that won't be good.
Going by the action figures alone, somebody needs to do a "Chad Comic Shang-Chi vs. Virgin MCU Shang-Chi."

Finally had time to binge WandaVision today. Overall, I liked it, especially the first few episodes. I have a few other things to catch up on before I watch The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, but I should hopefully get to it in the next few weeks; based on what I've read online, I don't expect to enjoy it as much, but we'll see.

I feel that WV's finale should've gone for way more mind tricks and less standard MCU fighting since it's basically the theme of the show anyway, but what's there wasn't bad and the show overall was pretty good. Very excited for Strange 2 as a result of the show.

The Eternals is going to be a disaster. We know nothing about the movie, except for the constant mentions of the diversity hire cast.
I still hope that Black Widow turns out good, but my interest in it has dwindled considerably.

I'm personally gonna be out of the hatewatching train after Loki.
I was hoping DS 2 would be good but my hopes are dwindling considering they have America Chavez in it for...reasons. Very badly thought out characters being put into badly thought out movies/tv shows from the sounds of it. All seem to be tied to identity politics which shows why identity politics, even if you have no issue with it (lol), kills storytelling and hype. You need the latter especially if you want to continue being a big money maker.
I went back and rewatched some of JL/JLU 2 or so years ago. It is way more nuanced and mature in some of the topics it deals with then it really had any business being. No wonder it remains liked as much as it is. One whole season involved conflict between elements of the US government and the Justice League based on the league being completely unaccountable and that being a concern, with Luthor running for president and an alt universe where the JL takes over America.
Puts the current state of the MCU/comic industry to shame tbh.

The poster is cool ... And that's the only nice thing I can say about the movie.
That said, the movie is going to suck. Woody Harrelson isn't a bad choice for Cletus Cassidy at all (his hairpiece in this movie actually makes him look exactly like the comic book Cletus Cassidy), but the entire movie looks so try-hard (just like the first one-- which was an unwatchable POS movie). It looks to be the "XD" emoticon in movie form ... All without an R-rating, no less. Like, if you're going to give us Venom movies without Spider-Man, then at least give us some adequate violence and gore.
And we all know that the final battle of the movie is going to be nothing but CGI bukkake set during the nighttime. So it's going to look like shit and not even be a good action scene.
