Do you really think he's cool enough for that? And besides, try going up to a dealer with that voice and not have them think you're some undercover desk jockey from the police station.

Honestly, and I hate to play the contrarian in the room, but MatPat's not much of a lolcow. He makes videos on theories, part of the fun of theories is debunking or discussing them and MatPat does absolutely nothing to prevent either and encourages his audience to think about vidya more than they typically would. (Whether or not that's a good thing is up to interpretation.)

The worst of his theories are just bad theories. He's not doing anything lulzy, he's not acting like a spaz, his videos don't devolve into madness or say anything outlandishly crazy or offensive, and I think it's unnecessary to even have him on here. Being a sellout shouldn't be a qualifier for a lolcow, it does nothing but influence the content to go in a direction emphasizing views which isn't even a bad thing at all. (EDIT: Inherently bad. It's a neutral stance that can go either way, don't misunderstand.)

If you don't like the content, more power to you, he gets under my skin as well, but giving Undertale to the Pope is about the most outlandish thing he's done, and with context behind it, it's not even that outlandish. (It's stupid and somewhat cringey, but it's not the worst thing he could have done.)

As for Mat himself, while I've only taken a passing glance at his livestreams, he's a lot more casual there and he doesn't take himself all that seriously. Even the FNAF thing I find it hard to harp on him, as it seems to me the developer for FNAF was having fun taking everyone for a ride, and I don't doubt the possibility of him talking with people like MatPat and Markiplier to put on a show.

tl;dr At his worst, MatPat makes some extremely hit more miss (Mostly miss) episodes of a show that I think way too many people take seriously. (The reaction to the Pheonix Wright episode is cringe in and of itself.) I don't think this thread is warranted at all. If we dedicated a page to every single person we didn't like, this website would be loaded with bullshit threads. Just my thoughts.

one of the common traits among lolcows is that they have an amazing lack of situational awareness, and that flaw is compounded by the 'tism they experience when interpreting the intentions and expectations of other people. the amount of and necessary for a man to stand in front of the Pope and spin video games as a civil rights issue is staggering, to the point where i can't believe that's actually what he did and i hope we're being .

of all the animals we've had in our little zoo here, i can only imagine chris and a couple of other medically retarded people actually doing anything remotely similar. i have faith that brad would have the presence of mind to discuss theological things so long as he had the attention of Il Papa, and even sniveling goblins like dobson would have the humility to turn their volume down for the occasion, but chris would use it as a platform for tribbing Sonichu like he's used every other minute in the spotlight; and this MatPat guy did just that, with more aggressive determination than daddy derek filming shotgun target practice out in the desert.

like, anyone who identifies as a youtube celebrity is at least mostly gay, but this guy's gotta be on a whole nother level, based solely on the bullet points covered in the OP and setting aside his "career" in Ancient Aliens: Vidya Edition. i'm positive you guys can all find somebody to defend who's less of a douche, just bring up any random thread here and chances are you're fine

I really dislike the content MatPat produces, but just because you find his videos cringy doesn't mean he's a lolcow. Its sort of like calling PewDiePie a lolcow because he screams into his mic 24/7 and I hate him. Unless he does something to piss off his fanbase royally or has an autistic slipup like DickStrokePhil, this thread won't amount to anything. Merely people saying that his theories are autistic and should go die.

Lolcows are bizarre people/groups/events, that are on the Internet, and respond negatively to people in a funny way. They are not countries, political figures, celebrities, your highschool bully, or some random YouTuber that isn't a drama queen.

Give me some examples of chimping, or lulzy behaviour. Disliking a relatively popular youtubers videos isn't enough for a lolcow thread.
