I actually prefer the different graphics. How many 8-bit Mega Mans do we really need, especially if the series stays stuck in Mega Man 2 style like they want?

It was already explained in the stream why the devs did not want to stay with 8 bit graphics, Mega man needed a overhaul but without falling in the same mistake that made Mighty number 9 fail, im more happy for the fact that is going to be released on PC, and Nintendo Switch users also get all the goodies

Wasn't there going to be a Megaman game made by the Metroid Prime devs at one point before it became victim of the Megaman cancellation spree?

Yeah but i have mixed feelings about that prototype, it was to american if you ask me, Metroid in the other hand was more popular in America shame that we got the butchered version (no save files lel) so Prime could easily be influenced and not lose the spirit of the game

Last year, Nobody cried about DOOM 3 and 4 for not sticking to the old engine for nostalgia, same for Fallout 3, new vegas, and 4.

We have come to this current year where people will cry because there's no pixels on their precious long-awaiting game sequels.

These people need to take their nostalgia glasses off and fuck off.

Gee, it's like the fandom can't be pleased. What ever happened to "don't play it if you don't like it"? It's like that concept is completely foreign to these so-called "fans".

Then again, if Capcom made 11 in the same NES style, we'd be hearing complaints about "WHY this game look the same?" or "Why can't capcom change the style already?" instead.

So if people dont like the artstyle, they should stfu because you say so?
Moving away from 8bit was the right call, but not with this mobilegame like style.

The reason is that most people who want new installments in old video games want everything to be the same as when they were a kid, (not autistic at all), and this mentality causes people to feel attacked when a franchise updates itself, see Sonic Mania vs Sonic Forces. Or Megaman 9 vs Megaman 11.
Here's the thing. I can see why Sonic fans want a return to the 16/32 bit era since those games were way better than a lot of modern sonic games(aside from Adventure, Adventure 2, Colors, and Generations). But I don't see the problem with Mega Man. Even when the games strayed from 8 bit they were still fun(MM7, MMX4, and Zero are pretty fun even though they aren't 8 bit) So i'm not seeing the problem here

I actually like the new art style, it looks similar to what MN9 was supposed to look like. Shame that Inafune decided to fuck up the very concept of a 2.5D Mega Man game.

Depending on the Level design, this may be the 1st Mega Man in a while that I would actually play.

We can't have a thread without progressive Chipman bitching about progress.

To be fair, Sonic Forces wasn't received well, at least not by critics. I'm hoping Mega Man 11 turns out more like Mania than Forces myself

Anyway these manchildren need to get over their bellyaching and accept that the franchise has moved on. We've already had eleven 8-bit games already and two more that behaved like one (and in fact, emulated 2's game play to a tee). Inafune isn't around anymore to ensure a Mega Man game is in development all the time and when he tried to make a new game (which turned out to be a shit scam that insulted the fan base it was targeting), it flopped.

If fans actually want the franchise to continue, they are going to have to vote with their wallet and buy the damned game that they begged for six years to have. Otherwise, they have no one to blame but themselves when Capcom decides to shelve up the franchise for good.
It's almost like people forgot about the really nice PSP megaman remakes and Megaman X8 were in a similar "2.5D" styles.
The former bombed horribly and the latter was not well received. My hope is that it will be a great 2.5D entry that actually sells well however hard it is to imagine Mega Man games selling well.

But then again, Mega Man is a mid-tier franchise, which I think gaming needs more of in today's climate.

Again, that's opinion. There's a difference between "I don't think I'll like this game" and "This is objectively the worst thing Capcom's made!" The problem is that they're complaining it exists to begin with, not just the style change.

Well those people are dumb. Im only talking about the graphics.
And also, why are some people acting like the whole 16bit/saturn/cps2 era never happened?
It's like take the shitty 8bit revival or the shitty low budget 3d, with nothing inbetween.

If they prefer the 8-bit style they could always play the eight (I think like 7 and 8 were 16 bit?) previous Mega Man games that have it from the last THIRTY years.

But Megaman 8 looked great and the versions of Sonic people remember were 16-bit. REEEEEEEE
The only flaw I can think about is that Mega Man's Buster looked kinda bad in that one, in that if you just tapped the button it looked like he was flicking instead of actually shooting. Felt weird.

I'd rather have them do the similar thing to MM9 by having a new Mega Man X game with 16-bit graphics right now to be honest.

Also, how did these Mega Man autists get all over hipstery and reee that 8-bit is better?
