They... They understand that eggs need to be fertilized first before a chick can start growing in it, don't they?
On the off-chance that they actually do, in fact, understand this, my bet is that they're trying to convince people who are against abortion to stop eating eggs with some idiotic appeal to emotion. With the chicken-period nonsense, they're using the fallacy of appeal to grossness.

But it's completely exceptional to try to convert anti-abortionists not to eat eggs by equating it to abortions, because spoiler alert, chickens are not human, and most anti-abortionists don't believe that chickens and humans are on equal footing.

Well the vegans that seem to acknowledge eggs are laid regardless of fertilization have decided it's somehow necessary for the chicken to eat the egg to regain the "lost nutrients" from laying, despite the fact they'll eat enough of anything to bounce back from laying or otherwise they'd eventually die I'd imagine, since laying is generally a daily occurrence. And, if for some reason that's not an option, they recommend the totally ethical solution of a hormonal implant for hens that are perfectly healthy layers to stop egg-laying all together.

Example of shitty vegan art strip about the topic.

I hate to break this to you Donny boy, but unless you are self sufficient and can grow every thing you consume yourself, you are still killing animals.

I've found some recipes in old cookbooks (like one from the 70s-ish or 80s) that use Capons, which are basically the steers of chickens (neutered male chicken). Apparently that shit used to be popular years and years ago. I don't know why someone couldn't do that today - if the chicks are so "useless" they'd probably be close to free if one were to offer to take the damn things off the hatcheries' hands instead of meat grindering them out of the starting gate. I know I'd buy a roasting capon in a hot minute if it was reasonably priced.

Stupid, because chickens eat whatever they want and that's where they get their protein. Just feed them larvae (Hornet King feeds his wasp larvae from removed nests_ and maybe a bit of extra calcium and they're good to go.

Vegans are like communists when it comes to farming; they know jack shit about it.

Even if you do that you’ll probably still kill animals because without some form of pest control, it’s going to be hard to produce enough crops to feed yourself, let alone others in the household. Regardless of what happens, things will die when you grow your own food, whether it’s other insects, rodents, or animals displaced from clearing forest to make farmland.
Farming is intense work though and it’s not like gardening where it’s more of a hobby rather than working to feed yourself off of what you grow. Additionally, everything has an ideal growing season and freak accidents can happen where a lot of the crop can get destroyed even after putting a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into it.

Vegans really underestimate how difficult it is to plant things, and if the whole world went vegan, way more farmland would need to be made to sustain that because of how much plants people that aren’t vegan already eat. You also need to eat way higher volume of food to obtain the nutrients needed, and that can be hard to maintain as well, especially if you aren’t a big eater to begin with. From a pure logistic standpoint, vegetarianism is far easier to maintain for the reason you can eat some foods that are more satisfying and filling with smaller quantities than if you were vegan.

From what I’ve seen, the only people making the decisions to go vegan mostly live in first world countries and do it because they have access to way more fresh produce and meat substitutes to make it more enjoyable. With vegetarianism, some do it by choice too, other times because of poverty, but overall is way easier to maintain and includes things like actual cheese, butter, milk, and eggs, which are often way cheaper than the vegan alternatives, such as cashew cheese and almond milk. The vegans that I’ve seen stick with it longer typically allow meat and cheese alternatives regularly in their diet which can be expensive for those not at a certain income level.

A man of culture who also watches Hornet King!
It's beyond retarded logic. Ironically, ask any farmer or backyard hobbyist, eating eggs is considered abnormal.. Usually some sort of illness is requiring them to need the extra protein, or being deficient in calcium (which is rare with an appropriate diet). The only other scenario I'm familiar with is one accidentally breaking an egg and just eating it from curiosity, then getting a "taste" for egg.

The amount of animals killed just during the harvesting of crops is pretty large. Not to mention how the farmers will try to kill any animals that come after their crops. But where's the outrage from vegan groups over this? I sure don't hear it.

They probably think that their better off dead, after all militant veganism and anti-natalism go hand in hand.

You mean them dying was always an option?

Well they should get right on that as soon as possible and put them out of our misery.
They seem more interested in taking out carnivorous people and animals before anything else.
The crazy black vegan guy Vegan Gains made a video about how predatory animals should go extinct.

This crazy existed, in a softer way, before internet era, even. A scifi book written in 1967, and Soviet one to boot, had the "make predators eat fruit" shit that even baby me found stupid.

I remember back in high school, one of my teachers was a vegetarian (this was early 90s, so dude wasn't an exceptional vegan nor was he pushy or especially obnoxious about it), he'd say stuff in a humorous way, like "By the way, meat is bad for you. That's just by the way," in the middle of a MATH lesson. He had a poster in the classroom that had a picture of a Tyrannosaurus Rex wearing a bib and holding a knife and fork in its ridiculously tiny arms and with a goofy rolled-up-to-the-ceiling crosseyes expression on its face, and 100 reasons to become vegetarian. One of the last ones was (99 and 100) were that Tyrannousarus was a) a carnivore and b) it was last seen 65 million years ago. Some other random ones were that the turnover rate of slaughterhouse employees was stupid-high, like highest of all jobs at that point in time; some slaughterhouses apparently are too cheap to use a 1 cent (at the time) captive bolt pistol to stun the animals; the amount of water to grow 1lb of beef vs 1 acre of grain (cows was way more water usage); and also, the most exceptional point of all:

-if we took all the land used to grow cows, and stopped growing cows on it, we could grow enough grain to feed the entire world.

This BLATANTLY ignores several factors, including the fact that not all ground can be used for growing grain. The reason some ground is used for growing cows is because it's poor soil that won't grow more than eating grass for a cow. And maybe if cows poop enough maybe, MAYBE at some point you can use the ground for growing shit (and that's not even taking factors like climate and temperature and moisture levels into account).

It's because most vegans aren't interested in facts, only factoids that sound really good.

It's like how it takes 4000 liters of water to make 1 kg of cow. Sure it's true, for certain values of true. They don't say that over 90% of that water is green meaning it fell as rain. They don't say that those 4000 liters are not just what the cow drank. It's used to grow the grass which they graze on. And then it's not like that water is lost. It gets returned to the Earth when the cow pisses it out later.

Yes we eat more meat than we really should. I have never denied this. But to go from that to saying we shouldn't eat meat period? Sorry but that's not happening.

They also don't mention that cows and other farm animals naturally produce high-quality fertilizer whereas modern industrial soybean farming uses artificially-produced fertilizer that depletes phosphates from mined soil or causes massive industrial pollution and simultaneously runs off into rivers alongside the deadly pesticides necessary for monoculture farming.

The vegetarian lifestyle is clearly devastating to the planet. Eat more meat, buckos!

My favorite comment exchange:
my dog won’t eat any vegan dog foods even the homemade one I made…it’s so frustrating
Go to good vet and ask there. I don’t have dog so I can’t recommend anything
My vet says vegan diets “aren’t good for dogs” :/ I know that’s not true tho so it’s hard
Maybe change your vet to someone else? If I were you I would seek help from a lot of vets.

I had that with a psychiatrist. They all refused me because they didn't know what antidepressants I could take when bf, until I found one who told me that I could take this and this while breastfeeding. He even gave me 3 websites online where I can check every ingredient in the medication! Sometimes unfortunately you have to search because people often don't have up to date knowledge. Often, when people get a job they don’t want to learn anything new, they do not seek knowledge, because they claim to already know everything
