Articles about millennials being special snowflakes are vexatious, but this one takes the cake. Sure there's a lot of discrimination and whatever during WWII, but they don't have to be offended about it always. There were soldiers who served during WWII who tried to move on with their lives, holocaust survivors who also moved on and probably veterans too. Millennials weren't even born during the war too so they won't experience how hard it is to live through it (neither do us kiwis).

Another thing, I fucking hate how they would always use "muh mental health" as a scapegoat. If your mental health is that bad, go see a therapist, take some medication and stay away from Twitter or whatever social media. stop whining about how society oppresses you and stop bringing it up in every convo they have.

Even the "good guy democracies" during the war committed acts that caused massive civillian deaths like Dresden, and firebombing. She was astounded that she never heard of it even at school.

People are mad about the shitty teaching of history in schools about WW2 when they should be mad about shitty teaching of history in general. Some highschool textbooks probably have two pages dedicated to WW1 while a bit more about WW2 in extremely watered down versions of it. Human history has some great moments for all of mankind. However it is not pretty, it is not clean, and most of all it is not fair. Ancient peoples would literally rape women as a favorite past time for conquered peoples ffs.

A person with a deeper understanding of history understands more about the world around him. Not just what it's like, but why. What led to the current culture and climate we live in? What changed? What stayed the same?
