Honestly, gonna seem like an autist here, but I enjoy all of Tommy's vids that don't involve the DreamSMP. Him and his normal group of friends are genuinely funny, even if some of it is the "loud + funny" humor.

It's pretty funny how the concept of attractiveness has shifted to normal looking skinny white dudes. Which is kind of where I mean with the influencer stuff, transitioning to something more like that. While Tommy doesn't necessarily love their stans, Wilbur and George does and can exploit it. It's not like these people are here for the Minecraft content.
Honestly, Ranboo and Tubbo stans being in the hashtag doesn't surprise me, as Ranboo is the most PC streamer to ever exist and Tubbos fans infantilize him and wouldn't want him associating with such a 'bad person.'

Honestly, that's apt. I've always been looking for a good description of the phenomenon when teen girls go crazy around a piece of media/content/celebrity and just become all consuming about it. Locusts sounds pretty spot on.

I'm not sure either. Like, this isn't meant to be a comparison but just sort of an example. You know how these school shooters and western ISIS recruits basically all have the same backgrounds? Disaffected youth, bored out of their mind, no real career prospects, unable to find a girlfriend? I do wonder if there's something about men that just cause them to be more, I don't know, direct? Are teenage girls more willing to just spend the time posting on social media and reading or writing fanfic? Not to say teenage boys don't also post but do they feel the need for it to escalate to something more "real"? Even if it's something insane or just LARPing about doing things, but just that feeling that it's not good enough as is.
Well most people ive seen here and over at the dream thread has no problems with anyone but the dream team and stans. Its obvious that dream browse the forums. So the more rational we sound like this, the faster he will realise he's the wrong one.

hmm. i don't think he's any more online than his friends, i think that's just the way he wants to be perceived by people... if that makes sense? when people were getting mad at him over the satirical portrayal of incels in the "nice guy" ballad, he folded instead of standing his ground. he was perfectly in the right in that situation, but he likely got overwhelmed by the amount of people coming after him for it: so maybe he's just more affected by what people say about him? perhaps he was projecting his own need to be perceived well onto tommy, making him shut tommy down when he was expressing how he felt about twitter.
You make a good point, if he was anywhere near extremely online he wouldn't have deleted his twitter. Maybe he just wants to make the fans he has happy with him. Some of the streamers want to please their fans, some are the complete opposite like Schlatt and try to make the types of fans they don't want fuck off.
Wilbur basically said "sorry for berating you while I was live, that was wrong of me because I didn't know what happened, but now that I do know what happened I still agree with what I said." Wilbur also talked a bit about Schlatt during that stream, but I guess it's ok when he does it.
Seems like Wilbur doesn't even know why he's apologising, he just knows he sounded like an asshole. It's kind of funny seeing someone come so close to realising their ideology encourages shaming and berating people instead of genuine social change, but still miss the mark. He wants to have his cake and eat it too.
