What the hell is MCYT / McYtTwt?
Ever since 2019 to the present day we've witnessed the rise of the MCYT Community and the rise of people "stanning" said creators within this community. This over the course of two years has resulted in the unholy Lovecraftian abomination that is MCYT and McYtTwt. From people creating art of their favorite creators being turned into furniture to creating erotic fanfiction featuring creators who are actual minors (See, Dream's Thread for more details on Dream). This wasn't the case back in 2019, so you might be asking yourself what the hell happened so that this situation might have happened.
Origins of MCYT & Co.
As many people on this forum are aware back in Early 2019, CallMeCarson and his friends started SMPLive where Carson and friends livestreamed and had fun while playing minecraft. SMP Live had a few gimmicks of it's own and included Carson's friends, several veteran minecraft YouTubers like AntVenom & CaptainSparklez. It included individuals who are semi-relevant to 2021 MCYT including Jschlatt, Wilbur, and Technoblade. It would eventually grow into the largest minecraft SMP of the time with players garnering upwards of tens of thousands of viewers in various streams in the server. Stans were not prevalent in this community at the time, mainly because MCYT in 2019 wasn't really a definable community. MCYT stans by the end of SMP live were still half a year away from being a definable community. It would generally stay this way until July 2020. Keep SMP Live in mind because it's practically the grandfather of current day minecraft SMPs like the Dream SMP.
SMP Live would go down in December of 2019 to be overtaken by SMP Earth, a minecraft SMP based on an obscure 4chan minecraft server called /int/craft and specifically the Yugoslav Wars iteration. This is anecdotal from a few users so take it with a grain of salt, according to several /int/craft users including one Stryker the leader of one of the big "meta-groups" in the server, Chip was in the /int/craft discord and was in Stryker's particular group. You could see this because SMP Earth shared a lot of features with /int/craft such as guns, and vehicles. The only difference being /int/craft goes off an iteration system with a specific theme, SMP Earth doesn't really do this Created by both ChippleDipple & Wilbur Soot. This is the exact same server where TommyInnit and Tubbo become well known. A few other Dream SMP Members were on this server, but Tommy & Tubbo are the most noteworthy as they gained fame from SMP Earth and would later join the Dream SMP. These are also the two minors who degenerate MCYT Stans made erotic fan fics of. This is still before most of the stans even came into existence for the most part.

We all know Dream, the guy with +20M YouTube subscribers, the man who's stans are infamous for being extremely spergy and obsessive. Why is this, I genuinely have no clue how. He has his own thread here on Kiwi just because of how much drama the man causes from cheating in his speed runs and lying to the whole world about it to his slap fight with John Swan, today we'll be talking about his stans. Dream stans are probably the most degenerate, toxic, and oddly enough the most puritan esque out of all the stans in existence with the exception of BTS Stans who are currently fighting with the Dream Stans over who can be the most toxic spergs on the internet. When digging through Dream Stan twitter, you can find how absolutely deranged these people can be at times as well as some very weird shit. As seen in the Dream thread, some of these individuals end up creating yaoi of their favorite creators, or even talk about their deranged fantasies on how they want to rape, dismember, and torture their favorite creators in some of the most mentally incoherent ramblings that would make Chris Chan seem sane by comparison.
All of these people are stanning a man who not only creates videos in a block game, but also a man who has the charisma of a decade's old cum rag. Going through MCYT twitter, you will see people behaving like cultists and someone who'd you'd expect to be at a Jim Jones congregation. Hell, it's gotten to the point where I wouldn't be surprised if any of them would end up kamikazeing ships, or committing mass suicide for their favorite creator. The sad part is, that the behavior of most of these stans are most likely going to get worse from here. How a cult of personality managed to congregate around a personality as bland and milquetoast as Dream is genuinely beyond my comprehension. Let's go through the people who are most popular on the Dream SMP and their stans.
Dream (Green man bad): 20 Million Subscribers, and the most popular of the bunch. Unlike other groups with stans, Dream actually goes out of his way to encourage his stans in some regards because he needs more money for blow, probably. TommyInnit (unfunny british kid): Got popular initially from SMP Earth, the e-celeb knockoff of /int/craft. A 17 year old who's jokes are more stale than both Soviet Era bread and his fellow YouTubers put together yet people still think he's funny, how you may ask? It's a mystery as old as time itself. Some how his jokes manage to be worse than Amy Shumer's, and in spite of this he's managed to gain 8 Million subscribers in a year. GeorgeNotFound (Leach No. 1): A leach from Britain who's best butt buddies with Dream and the only reason why he even has a single drop of fame. BadBoyHalo (The Oldfag): Minecraft content creator since the year 2012, started out way before everyone else here. Tubbo (Idk what he's known for, being Tommy's friend I think): Another part of the MCYT Clique and specifically the people who surround the Dream SMP. WilburSoot (Twink): Known for assisting Chip in setting up SMP earth, got popular for some videos with Jschlatt.

Differences between the Minecraft Community and MCYT Community
This needs to be gotten out of the way quick, since most of us have played minecraft and we all know that MCYT and the Minecraft Community are two separate entities. People like AntVenom, SalC1, FitMC, as well as many others are separate from MCYT. With Fit, Sal, and Ant they're all informative individuals and are actually interesting to watch despite the hyperbole that they may engage in at times. What's the gimmick with Dream, well nothing he just meta'd the algorithm to get to the top. Everyone else with the exception of BabBoyHalo is just pretty faced. The reason why so many people fawn over people like Dream, George, and Tommy is because they're nothing more than pretty faced pop idols. The only difference between their predecessors in terms of pop-idoldom is that they did it on their own for the most part. Dream stans for the most part would not even try to touch /int/craft, 2b2t, or CivClassics for example. We even learned from an insider that many Dream Stans don't even play minecraft.
