About time that one of you niggers made a thread on this, and that nigger is going to me. I'm surprised no one made a thread about this show. We have a thread on all shows that are rather popular in spergy Tumblr circles (Star Vs., Steven Universe, multiple MLP threads, etc.), yet not a thread on this one, weirdly enough.

What's surprised me about it is just how popular this show has gotten within just a few years. This show is like a modern-day French PPG. There's merchandising of it everywhere, multiple apps, online videos, characters with their own show-approved social media accounts, comic books, chapter books, book books, a movie musical in production, a live-action movie in production, and more. Even as I go on my daily constitutions, I've seen toys, action figures, lunchboxes, I really am shocked at the spread of this show from when it went to netflix. But really I want to know, just how good do you really think the show is? Imo, I think this show is corny as fuck (it plays with a lot of common stereotypes you see in superhero shows and sometimes it's cringe), but the formula is fucking addictive. I love the idea of people turning into demons, monsters, or villains based on their personal desires. I loved it in Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja when I was younger and I love it here too. Such an interesting concept and it's done pretty well. The animation (for the most part) is pretty good, the comedy of this show is pretty good as well, and the over-arching story is pretty engaging. I don't really give a shit about the shipping and fandom. They aren't as bad or as vast as other fandoms which are commonly spread about Tumblr, but they are a little whiny, particularly when it comes to the show's scheduling, although reasonable to complain about it releasing episodes out-of-order, but eh. They feel autistic sometimes.

The French are pretty good at 3D and 2D animation - probably why they're increasingly involved with the anime industry. IIRC Sonic Boom was done by a French studio, too.

The adult members of the fandom are pretty exceptional, however.

I think it's pretty solid, if a bit formulaic. Half superhero, half magical girl. The character designs are bright and vibrant, and it's a blast if you can appreciate that level of camp. Just wish the actual plot wasn't so glacially slow.

I've watched a handful of episodes earlier this year. While it's not really my thing, I like how it combines the magical girl and the superhero genres.

The only thing I really dislike about the franchise is Ladybug's costume design. It's so monotonous.

This show has big-time scheduling problems. The first part of the season finale was released yesterday. The only problem is that 2 other episodes that take place before the two-part season finale have yet to be aired. And now the second part of the season finale is dropping sometime tomorrow.

So the fans have to put the puzzle pieces together about what happened in two episodes prior to make sense of the season finale.

Some episodes are sent to networks earlier than others. I believe it's because of the multiple animation studios working on the show trying to get shit done.

Some Ukranian network got ahold of the last two episodes of Season 3 and one dropped on Sunday while the others dropping tomorrow...or today, since I'm an EC nigga and Ukraine is already 7 hours ahead.

As for the schedule fuckery, yeah that sucks, but I've come to accept it and actually kind of enjoy it because I'm the kind of autist that loves puzzles and fan theories and having these episodes so out of order appeals to that. I like trying to solve all the puzzle, it's why this particular fuck up annoys me so much. I could accept and enjoy the out of order episodes for the puzzle factor, but this is just bullshit, I draw the line with this.
