Assaulting a police officer doesn't go down well in the UK. Rip into us all you want for our shitty laws, but one thing that will get you in trouble for sure is being shitty to police. If that is physical assault, then rip you.Even the UK would have problems tolerating them...the neighbours for starters wouldn't be as polite with the disturbances they cause, homeowners or not. His sex pest activities alone would make him a marked target.
Luckily for them, they're in the right place to act like ferals and get away with it.
Iirc the charges range from assault (with/without intent) to actual & grievous bodily harm depending on the injuries sustained. If you assault an emergency service worker that's a separate offence, so you could probably get charged with multiple crimes at once for the assault alone
oh and obviously the resisting arrest too, plus the fact they used a 'weapon' is an offense in, I believe, something along the lines of possession/use of an offensive weapon. This is the good ol' "loisence" law you guys probably know and love, in that pretty much anything can be labeled as an offensive weapon depending on the situation, so you end up with police confiscating weird shit like spatulas because someone was waving it about aggressively
